You are correct. Manual and Male are able to be selective in their student admission.

Yeap, and I am sorry that prop20 passed Rockmom. I still don't think it will really actually come to pass.

From another point of view, Manual and Male are FORCED to be selective in their student admission... If a TOP athlete has trouble with remidial math and english, he's not going to get to come to Manual if he lives across Second St.

To be blunt I don't believe that. Just like those that accuse the private schools of impropriety just because of their success, I don't believe that Manual or Male either one would have achieved the success they have if not giving preferential treatment to athletes. I have no proof but that doesnt seem to be an issue when accusing the private schools.

That's fine, but don't you dare get on a high horse that Private schools don't cheat because they don't get caught. Either come with proof, or get shouted down, same proposition that the people who think the Catholics cheat are met with.

Any private school supporter that follows one can either agree with the other or be a hypocrite...

And proclaim it all you want in the other direction- it doesn't change what you want is for one set of rules to apply in one situation.

"What's good for the goose is good for the gander" is not a position that lends itself to a moral high ground. THAT'S my point.
