I was thinking more along the lines of there are a lot more gun owners in Texas. Criminals or not, most people don't want shot.

That goes right along with my Texas analogy. Regardless it's sad to hear that such a thing is happening. Hopefully as many as possible are caught and prosecuted.

Real Estate Appraisers are going to make a killing after this mess. Any homes that were in the process of being purchased will need to have a re-inspection done. So Appraisers who normally make $450 per appraisal will tack on another $150-$200 to re-inspect the homes that were damaged.

Could a Mod please change the thread title from "Looters" to " Undocumented Shoppers"?

Not looting groceries or clothing stores, but man if there is a place selling Jordans or Nike they are all over it.
Sure hope they can recover that lost profit...

Nike and Jordan made thier money when the shoes were delivered to the store...it's the stores that are out in situations like this. Even though insurance will replace all damaged merchandise that can be proven, it may not replace missing shoes.

They were just rescuing the shoes from flooding. Good Samaritans I am sure.

You'll have to forgive me for not being able to sympathize with a $3.5B corporation.

It's local stores that are out from looting more than anyone else. You'll have to forgive me if I don't sympathize with thieves.

You're right. There is no excuse for stealing. There is no excuse for skimming right past the OP and finding something to react to. I still can not sympathize with Foot Locker.

So in other words, theft is ok as long as the person you are stealing from has money.

So a family run mom/pop store that sells hardware stuff gets looted and a bunch of lawnmowers is stole, its ok because John Deer has money already?

Thats about stupid. If it was some woman who needed stuff for kids to survive then I can understand. but it was a bunch of people wearing shoes just stealing and looting like it was a buffet at Golden Corral.

No, I did. It was a half-hearted admission that I may have been off base. In my defense, you said it was Foot Locker in the second post.

It certainly wouldn't do much good to steal from a homeless person.

Maybe they were stealing the shoes to sell so they could afford to buy stuff for their kids.
