Lets just face it, all this public vs. private is about football and I think it stinks. Football does not rule the world and if this continues they are going to mess up the Greatest High School Sporting Event in the World.....The Sweet Sixteen.

Do I think its fair that private schools give aid to athletes....NO, but I can live with it.

Most people on here would disagree with you. Other than 4A private schools haven't dominated football at all.

You need Macros to run your responses.

Press 1 for :We give financial aid to students, some of which HAPPEN to be athletes, most of which are not.

Press 2 for: Not all private school students come from wealthy families. Many parent(s) work 2 or 3 jobs to afford tuition.

Press 3 for: Private schools do not determine which students get financial aid. Tax forms and applications are sent to a third party out of state with no names or extra activites listed.

Who would disagree, aside from the Rose Hill/Ashland/Boyd County deal along with Lex. Cath. basketball is hardly ever brought up, boys or girls.

I think it has a lot to do with the "non-revenue" sports...

Perhaps, but when the soccer coach comes to your house after seeing film of your skills in 8th grade games, tells you that you have a place on his team, and explains what you need to do to get financial aid, that's recruiting and an 'athletic scholarship,' I don't care if the need is genuine.

That is what I was thinking. If you look at the thread Pat Man started, it will show that 4A football is really the main one affected by the private schools. Then when you get into the sports that receive less attention like Girls basketball, volleyball, soccer, etc.. you see more privates winning that. Nothing against the fans of those sports, but hopefully for the fans of the Money making sports this wont get passed.
