Rickyp is, as usual, blunt but factually correct. You may not appreciate the tone of his posts but you cannot, if honest, dispute that he speaks the truth. However, I do need to "amend" one of his statements. The at large B of C member who so completely represents Ashland's personal interests is, in fact, still a member of the Ashland school board. Apparently, that member missed the Friday meeting. Otherwise, the vote would obviously have been 9-8.
For those 15th and 16th Region people who are so upsent with Mr. Dotson, why do you suppose he voted against the proposal? Obviously, he was not doing so for the benefit of Rose Hill. Could it be that, unlike all the self-serving membership voters, he was wise enough to understand the damage and cost to the KHSAA that such a proposal would cause?

The 15th 16th rep is never seen by the schools in his area. What a total sham. It is a shame that schools like Fairview, Bath, and Lawrence let perceived favors from the rep sway their votes. I hope they are happy with what they elected because the majority of the schools are not.

RickyP this has nothing to do with Rose Hill. It has to do with schools like Lex Cath operating on an unlevel playing field. I would be proud of my one region title being won by kids from other states. Two claps for you guys.

Other than the "matters" pointed out by Rickyp, Cubster, why would Russell be so emotional about this proposal one way or the other? After all, it is not likely that Russell will have a relationship with any private school other than Rose Hill. Should this overreaction be interpreted as affirmation of what Rickyp has posted? If the emotion has nothing to do with Rose Hill, then what? Now don't come back with a post that you feel betrayed by Mr. Dotson. That is disingenuous and really begs the question as to why Russell is so "concerned".

Who says Russell has an emotional response?
I just feel the BOC should support its member schools. The majority voiced its opinion and the BOC should honor that.
    No problem with Rose Hill.
All of their players have a right to play there if they are ruled eligible by the KHSAA. You guys need to get over yourselves.
I do have a probelm with our "rep" for personal reasons.

As expected, Cubster, you begged the question as to why Proposal 20 was important to Russell. I have to assume that Rickyp hit the target. Of course, you may also have a candidate that you are prepping to oppose Mr. Dotson. Is that the case?

No that is not the case at all. The schools know the facts. I look for a new rep in there next time. BTW your beloved RH did not vote for Mr Dotson in the last election. They voted for the hard working honest candidate.

I am very aware of how Rose Hill voted. Mr. Dotson's vote certainly was not a vote for Rose Hill. It was a wise vote for what is best for the KHSAA. I cannot fault his vote. If the publics weren't so self-serving and myopic, Mr. Dotson wouldn't have been forced to correct the problem.
By the way, I always like it when you guys refer to Rose Hill as "your beloved Rose Hill". In debating, it indicates more than you think. It indicates more of that "emotion" and, in debating, emotion is a weakness.

Cubster, I will take you at your word. Understand that the only private school in the 16th region is Rose Hill. I have to believe that Rose Hill is an issue for most of the locals that want to seperate.

You should also be proud of Russell's regional runner up trophy won with players from out of district. I will hold my applause until they finish first. I sincerly hope that if Rose Hill is ready that this Russell's year.

I cannot comment on the boys side of the ledger. I am well aware that our best players are Rose Hill products. Actually Ashland and Boyd County kids as a matter of fact. I have no problem with Rose Hill and respect Coach Fraley greatly.

Why didn't Jeff Schlosser from Ft Thomas vote instead choosing to abstain? I assume he was there. Doesn't he an opinion on the matter? Pick a side, any side and vote please. Why be on a board and have such an important issue before it and choose to abstain?

So I take it you guys don't like Mr. Dotson?

    Why?

There are what, Piarist, The David School, and Rose Hill, in the 15-16th Regions and everybody is running scared?

What happened at RH was a bad situation especially with how OJ's and companies "handlers" have showed there true stripes but get over it. Its over and done, and if I'm not mistaken Morgan and Russell have both got some questionable transfers that have stayed or in one case went back to were they come from. I also respect Ashland and their athletics programs as much as Belfry's but the whinning needs to stop.

I'm not taking shots at anyone guys, I just want to know why you guys are so unsatisfied?

Ask 15th 16th region schools. They never see the guy. Plus the way he got some schools to vote for him with some favors.
