Dr Seuss mural taken down after racial stereotype.

If you look at Chinese art, it shows same things.

"We recently learned that a key component of this institution honoring Dr. Seuss features a mural depicting a scene from his first book, 'And to Think That I Saw It on Mullberry Street,' and within the selected art is a jarring racial stereotype of a Chinese man, who is depicted with chopsticks, a pointed hat and slanted slit eyes," the complaint reads. "We find this caricature of 'the Chinaman' deeply hurtful, and we have concerns about children's exposure to it."

Surely "Little Black Sambo" has been banned for years. Thinking back on that children's book now I don't recall the storyline being stereotypically racist but the images of Sambo were. I believe all of us 5 kids were exposed to it.
Times have changed for the butter.

I guess that's better than marginalizing whole segments of the population.

I don't know how old you are, but I thought I might be the only geezer who got my feeble attempt at a joke. I appreciate yours, too. I wish I could come back with another one---but I got nuttin' right now.

Whenever I see a thread like this I always think of a certain breakfast restaurant in North Myrtle Beach. I'm amazed how there isn't constant outrage about it.
