So you think the comments by the mayors were not ill-advised?

Actually, don't you think that in time, the overall bottom line of the company will tell the tale? So, you're shocked that the the mayors of the cities with the largest homosexual populations in the country are upset that their constituency might be offended if they didn't take a stand on their behalf? Political grandstanding if you ask me.

I agree with the political grandstanding. They're ill-advised because they have no impact on the ability to get re-elected AND they make the city look silly. I'm not sure what you think I'm shocked about.

OK. We aren't on the same page. I agree with you then. I misunderstood. I think the mayors are nuts if for tax implications for the city alone.

What about UofL talking about throwing out Chick-Fil-A? Should a state run university be picking sides here in a religous debate?

I think that falls under "slippery slope."

Invalid? No. Skewed? Absolutely. Let's see what it is in 3 months, 6 months and a year. Polls right now have no bearing on long term results. My guess is it will have little effect after 90 days, if that long.

It will be interesting to follow.
IMO those who are rallying by showing up are much more short-term than those who are truly offended. We'll see.

I wonder what the reaction would be if a state university's leadership said they were going to attempt to revoke the lease of a store owned by openly gay people?

I don't think there are all that many truly offended. It makes for a good show though.

I think both are going to end up being equally short term.

You don't think the gay community is offended?

I'll be glad when people stop supporting Chick-Fil-A -- this drive-thru line is ridiculous.

Great question. I think we all know the answer.

Seriously? The gay community has been fighting for the right to marry for years. Why would you think they're not opposed to this guy's stance and will stop supporting his business?

Did that happen?
