Calling the Highlands baseball team "Dirty Birds" is a GROSS understatement

    Expelled

And I don't have all the details on the fight other than the victim got several shots in.

Would be interested to know the relationship between the victim and the perpetrators before the incident. If they got along ok beforehand that lends itself to a sick attempt at a joke and I would be ok with just kicking them off the team. If it's part of ongoing bullying then a school suspension is warranted.

Problem with the fight is most school districts have a pretty set policy on fighting, you fight, this is what happens, no exception.

Without any more details than what was originally posted, yes. I wouldn't be opposed to them being booted entirely though.

This was an extracurricular activity; not school. IMO, you don't get to participate in anymore extracurricular activities but still get to go to school and receive your education.

Life lessons to be learned in the coming days, weeks.

Agreed, this is what I was leading to in my initial post.

Its a school activity, no different than if it happened in the hallways.

Are extracurricular activities an extension of school? I thought that as a rule, they are.

It is no different than if it had happened in school IMO.

It never fails to amaze me that you can get a second and third (etc) kid to board your train of stupidity.....How did they imagine this would turn out??

    I agree.

This is one of the few times you are justified in hitting someone and if the school system tries to punish the victim under any kind of blanket fighting policy I would definitely take legal action against the school if I were the parents.

Worst part is the victim will probably also get punished for retaliating.
