Al Sharpton was not an official spokesperson for the White House. Never has been and never will be. Blame the media for giving Al a voice. Not Obama.

Wait, he sends in the federal government to investigate Trayvon and Michael Brown and the federal government finds out that nothing illegal took place and that's a problem? I'm so confused.

What committee is Al on? You may be right there. Unlike most people in America I refuse to give Al Sharpton more than 10 seconds of my attention.
I think hellbirds point is Obama shouldn't have called the officer stupid before he knew exactly what happened.

    As for Sharpton,

Wrong. The truth came out before
the beer summit and was the whole reason he had the beer summit, it was his way of
trying to save face. He jumped to conclusions which was his first mistake. My mistake about committee, I couldn't think of
the word, I meant to say his go to guy in race relations. Al has been logged over 60 times in the White House logs for meetings with the president and others. It is well known he has been one of the presidents confidants over the years. No mystery there.

You left out the facts about treyvon Martin and Ferguson cases. The local court systems found no wrong doing in both cases and acquitted both suspects and after that he sent the Atty Gen to do their own investigation only to find the same thing the local
jurisdiction found about both cases. Yet again nothing for anything when a black man kills a white man or black cop kills a white cop etc.

The point on the beer summit is he acted and made judgement without all the facts. Which has been a ongoing failure of this presidency. And I don't buy most the country believed the professor.

And also you do realize the amount of times Mr.Sharpton is at the White House for meetings with president . Why is the president giving him a voice ?

Another point are all the rioters part of the protest no. But to act like there isn't a crossover between the two is being naive.

Finally in Ferguson we heard the problem was that the police force was to white and leadership was to white. In Baltimore we have a police force that is majority black and a city leadership that is the same.

We are learning more and more it's not really a race issue but it's a lack of respect for authority in our inner cities.

It's well documented on here my criticism of police in certain situations. But these riots prove everytime why there is such a heavy handed police presence in these neighborhoods because of the criminals willing to take these actions.

I agree with you but I think the media loses also because their interviewing these
    folks on the street make
themselves look stupid with their silly questions and trying to justify what is going on.

the bolded hits the nail on the head and is what I was trying to say earlier. They use anything as an excuse to make it a race issue when in fact Baltimore has nothing to do with race at all.

It's too bad Obama is using Sharpton in that manner. He should have called me. I wouldn't use Sharpton for anything. Very poor choice for a voice there.

Obama should have sent the Attorney General down there. When a black dude kills a cop the black dude is convicted. When was the last time a black dude killed a white cop and got away with it?

CNN and Fox have both put plenty of these individuals on TV. It doesn't negate the thousands destroying a city.

People on one hand can't criticize the entire justice system and police forces over a few bad officers and then act shocked that people criticize a community over thousands of people destroying it.

The lack of respect for authority in some communities is down right sad.

Your first part of this post, I couldn't agree more with you. I was pointing out what he has done. Glad you also disagree with how he gives Al a voice.

Your second point, I don't know and it's not because it hasn't happened I would
bet, but that it isn't reported nationally like it is when a white cop kills a black man.

I will simply remind you of the incident that happened here with the 6 black kids who beat the white man almost to death somy because he was white. The black kids ages from 12-16 last year or so and should of had the Sharptons of the world condemning the actions of the kids yet nothing. Just one example of many.

The problem in all of the dialogue is that when people offer explanations of the mindset of the peaceful protestors people turn a deaf ear to what the true issues are. In some ways it is a race issue and a disenfranchised issue but because of the looters when people offer up these explanations they are accused of defending and condoning the actions of the looters and that isn't the case. The city of Baltimore has long been one of the most corrupt cities in America. Sadly looters are disrespecting the death of Freddy Gray and ruining an opportunity for attention and change to the system in Baltimore.

My bad. He said when a black dude kills a white man or black cop kills a white cop. When a black dude kills a white man he is caught and convicted. He won't get away with it.

But they were all caught and convicted weren't they? It's not like anyone condoned their actions. Plus, Al Sharpton is not an equal opportunity voice. He never has been. I wouldn't lose sleep over him not speaking out on the actions of thugs.

    I don't know. I don't know of all
theincidents because of what I said, a lot aren't reported nationally like the ones that are causing riots.

The he last link I just put in I didn't even hear about that, I just did a search 5 mins ago and that was the first of a list of stories that barely made any news. That was my point. I didn't see where he was convicted. So there is one right off
    the bat.

Anyway, I enjoyed this tonight. Thanks for the debate. Im
headed to bed, have a good one
