It may not be his job to improve race relations per say but it definitely isnt his job to fan the flames especially when the incidents he used to promote race issues was proven negative.

That is what many have issues with.

MLK, unlike the other black leaders we have to hear was a great man.
Now if you know something I don't please enlighten me on how MLK promoted and relished in violence. Hell even Fred Hampton was a better leader than the bozos out there today.
The ones looting, rioting, etc aren't doing it in the name of protest. Even MLK would be able to see that. He'd say the same thing a lot of black people are saying but that white people choose to ignore. He'd be trying to let people know that the looters aren't protestors and that they need to stop what they are doing. There are so many blacks speaking out against these violent acts as well as other acts in other cities but white people and the media choose to focus on the blacks who 'condone' it.

    Carry on though.....

Context. I took it as the mayor protecting her police force. The cops aren't safe out there at all.

You say fan the flames. I say he was simply being a black man in America. The saga continues.......

Making the statement she made does nothing but make things worse. She basically gave a green light to riot and loot. No two ways around it.

There's no way to stop it without being allowed to legally kill all the people doing the looting.

Most bigger cities have a lot of military style equipment these days. In fact, last summer Baltimore spent over $600,000.00 on more of this type of equipment.

Perspective. The black perspective is different than the white perspective. What may seem baseless to you may seem logical to me.

There are ways without killing everyone you can do.

Rubber bullets, tear gas, etc. curfew which they just made is a start that should have been in affect sev days ago.

Don't get me wrong, Obama had the deck stacked against him as the first Black president. He just doesn't have the "I'm in control at all times" attitude that Clinton or Reagan did. Shouldn't matter what color you are; Stand up and say out loud, "Those people in Baltimore are criminals - rioters and looters - and should be dealt with harshly so that the peaceful protesters can be safe."

If logic is making up lies then that is what I'm talking about. It's Making things worse. It is getting to the point where I think many black men, If they think the way you just said they do, just look for an excuse anymore.

It is getting to the point where I don't think if that is what you believe then you and others that think that way could really care less about race relations and instead just look for an excuse to act this way and riot and loot etc. has nothing at all to do with racial tensions and everything to do with an excuse to be thugs and destroy things. Sad but true.

Didn't Obama pledge whatever help that Baltimore needs to resolve this situation? What else should he do? This is on the mayor and governor. If they are holding back the police/national guard that is on them.
