    Recruiting video site

I recently came across the following info:

    www.afctube.com <http://www.afctube.com>
    American Football Coaches Tube
Are you tired of making hundred’s of DVD’s of your players to send out to
    colleges?
Are you tired of spending time and money on DVD’s, stamps and envelopes?

This letter is to inform you of a website, www.afctube.com <http://www.afctube.com> , which targets
football coaches. This site is free of charge and will allow you and your
players to post multiple highlight reels for college coaches to view.
The video feature eases recruiting by eliminating the need for coaches to
produce multiple highlight reels for individual players to send to
recruiters. Instead coaches and players can upload videos to the site for
coaches to view instantly. This feature is also beneficial because it
eliminates time and money associated with mailing DVD’s.

For example, if you have ten seniors looking to play at the collegiate
level, instead of making and sending highlight reels to every college that
requests it; you or your players can upload them to the afctube.com, Once
the video has been uploaded to the site you can direct college coaches
there to view them instantly. Players will get more exposure from college
programs, because the videos will be on the homepage for any coach to
view. Be sure to provide your contact information along with the videos so
other coaches who are interested in your player’s can contact you. This
site is very beneficial for coaches and players and IT’S FREE

Seems like a good idea particularly if a lot of high school coaches post videos and a lot of college recruiters go to it for info. What do others think? And I apologize if this has already been posted on here.

I think this is a good idea. Anything that helps defray costs. I have known several families who have been approached by "special companies" who offer to send out video's, etc, for a "small fee" ($1,500). This will give families and coaches a more viable option, and perhaps get rid of some of these organizations that are preying on the dreams of these families.

I think this is a great idea. However, since most parents/players aren't sure how to get started, using a service can be a very valuable tool. I agree that $1500 sounds high, especially when most of those services don't even put together the highlight video, and often the family has to pay to have that done or spend the hours necessary to do it themselves. The flip side is that if a kid gets even a partial athletic scholarship, it will pay for itself immediately. The disreputable ones, however, will take ANY kids money, regardless of whether he can play at the next level or not. If they are charging that much, that better put together an awesome highlight video as well. There are numerous scam artists out there, and they give the legitimate ones a bad name.

I have put together these videos and packages for kids all over the state for years (from Hazard to Bowling Green and many points in between). I am pleased to say that nearly every kid I have worked with has played or is currently playing sports on scholarship in college, whether it be football, basketball, soccer, etc. I remember one of the first kids I worked with when he got his first scholarship offer from a D1 school, his parents called me and said that the package and video saved them around $60,000 on their son's education once he graduates.

I do love the idea of this website and if it is free, that is a GREAT idea and a terrific deal. I hope that a ton of kids utilize it!
