Whoa Nellie! Keith Jackson has died

And so has a piece of my childhood. I used to love listening to Keith Jackson call a game.

He was great. When he was doing a game , he always made it seem like it was a big game. Some of his descriptions I remember: "big uglies", "between the tackles...that's where they sing the hymns", a low punt was a "tail dragger."
RIP, Mr. Jackson. You done good.

Quite of career. Was watching some vidoes about him and just learned that he coined the terms "Grandaddy of the All" for the Rose Bowl, and "Big House" for Michigan Stadium. Outside of Notre Dame games, I would often choose which game to watch based upon whether he was doing the play-by-play or not.

He always drew out the word Alabama when he said it. “Al....la...Bama!” With emphasis on the Bama part.
