Rejoining his high school teammates. Gutsy move with Jarren Williams there.

Guess he enjoys the back up QB life. I would have just stayed at OSU.

Weather is much better in Miami, not to mention the "scenery."

Miami does seem to fit his personality and honestly he was unproven as a thrower at Ohio State. Not saying he could not throw just that he was unproven. The package that he was used in at Ohio State never posed a threat of him throwing the ball so most teams would simply load the box when he came in knowing it would be running play.

Regardless, good luck to him as Ohio State will be just fine. And yes, that includes whether Justin Fields is ruled eligible to play immediately, which I clearly think he will, or not. Baldwin, while not playing, has a very strong arm and at the very least is capable of just being a "game manager" for the Buckeyes. The biggest concern for the Buckeyes will be the offensive line, all the other pieces are there with 8 starters returning on defense the biggest bonus.

Jarren Williams named the starter today.

I think we’ll see all 3 guys play at different points this season, but definitely a big statement from Manny Diaz naming Williams the starter.

I was hoping that he could win the starting slot, only because he is a former Buckeye. Maybe he should have gone to a lesser school or maybe a smaller one.

As JA was alluding too, I think this may simply have been more about how good Jarren Williams is as opposed to how good Tate is. Tate’s plenty good enough to play at Miami.

Think he would have stayed at OSU if he knew he'd be #2 either way? Assuming of course that he could beat out Gunnar.

I still would have taken Matthew Baldwin over the lot of them.

It doesn’t matter where you are on the depth chart once the relationship is over.

Was the relationship over prior to his deciding to leave? Everything I read everything was all good until Fields name popped up.
