Should UK have gone for the extra point or for 2?

    Simple question.

I loved the decision to go for 2, even though it didn't work.

    What say you?

The offense has done very little all game. The defense couldn't stop the run. Your 3 yards away from winning the game. You do it in this situation.

Now the play call itself wasn't good lol.

Yes. Play call was fine. Pass floated and was behind receiver.

Right call. Play wasn't terrible either, just wasn't executed that great.

When I left Lexington the Cat's were losing and Snell was apparently thrown out of the game. Yet they made a comeback and had a chance to take it to overtime. I would have kicked it and went for overtime myself, in that situation. I'm not a big fan of going for two in general to avoid overtime because it typically means you feel like your team isn't capable of winning in overtime. The cat's had momentum on their side in this one, I would have kicked the extra point and let it play out.

You have to have a play that is going to work. That play wasn't it.

Now that I agree with. The play call was bad. The decision to go for wasn't.

Uk didn't have momentum until the final minute. So with that thinking you would think with momentum you can get 3 yards. If you can't get 3 yards. Then chances of our offense going 25 yards on offense is not great, and defense stopping a run game that had close to 400 yards rushing not either. However could win by making one 3 yard play.

If you don't have that play it's stupid to go for it.

The play was fine. More than one receiver was open. Not a great throw, but good enough throw. The receiver got his hands on the ball, should have caught it.

Dumb--NW hadn't scored in the 2nd half on offense, KY had a couple of stops in key situations, NW had done nothing but run w/o their QB & even easier to defend in a short field in OT--Kick the point & see what happens. Stoops must have had a plane to catch; why put the whole game they fought for on the fate of one play. Anything can happen in OT in college.

I thought it was poor decision (but great for bowl atmosphere). Tie it up and give yourself time to plan OT strategy and win it there.
