When being dominated on the LOS by what looks like a superior team and the opponents coach gives you a gift (go for 2 ) everytime

I thought the play call was bad, really bad.

As far as going for it. I think they made the right decision.

I’m not a huge fan of Stoops, but I thought this was the right decision. Even though I wish the outcome had been different, I love the call to go for the win. Northwesterns run game would have beaten us in OT.

You have your starting QB (they do not).
You are missing your top running back.
    You have a better kicker.
You have receivers who dropped passes they should not through out game.

They have the better of the running backs left in the game.

If you go for 2 you better run a play that works 8 out of 10 times in practice. The play ran did not seem to meet that criteria.

If you can’t beat NW in OT, Stoops has another thing coming once the SEC recovers, which is coming soon.

If you are going for 2 in that spot you have to have that one play in your pocket that you have been saving all year, the play you run in practice for the perfect opportunity. That play was not it.

What @GrantNKY said: If you don't have a really good play ready then it is a poor decision to go for 2.

Absolutely go for 2 given the circumstances. It's a bowl game.

That’s the thing they had nothing in place, they just winged it.

Absolutely not. Especially after NW called two timeouts

Eddie Gran told reporters that the team has actually been practicing three two-point attempt plays over the last month, and this one gave them the best shot.
“Yeah, we had three of them and that one gave us a lot of options,” Gran said. “We’ve been running all three of them for the last four weeks, so there was no hesitation whatsoever.”
“[Stoops] didn’t hesitate either,” Gran said. “He had already said before I’d run the quarterback run play, ‘If you score, get the two point conversion.'”
Sadly, football is a… wait for it…
“We got hung up. You can’t get hung up right there. It would have been an easier opportunity for the ball if you don’t get hung up, but it’s a game of inches. It was inches.”

If that play they ran gave them the best shot, I would really hate to see the other two.

I was sitting right behind the end zone and watched the play develop in front of me. NW wasn't fooled...at all.

Right decision to go for the win. Should have ran an RPO play though IMO.

In a meaning less bowl game, you go for 2 to end the game. Do not prolong the game and risk an injury to a player for the next season.
