    Settle a Debate for Me

Rank the teams on this list the past 5 years:

    Team 1:
    Overall Record: 45-21
    Bowl Record: 2-3
    NY6 Bowl Record: 1-1
    Top 10 Finishes: 2
    Draft Picks: 24

    Team 2:
    Overall Record: 53-15
    Bowl Record: 5-0
    NY6 Bowl Record: 2-0
    Top 10 Finishes: 2
    Draft Picks: 21

    Team 3:
    Overall Record: 44-19
    Bowl Record: 3-2
    NY6 Bowl Record: 1-0
    Top 10 Finishes: 1
    Draft Picks: 36

    Team 4:
    Overall Record: 41-25
    Bowl Record: 2-3
    NY6 Bowl Record: 0-2
    Top 10 Finishes: 1
    Draft Picks: 26

If there’s another stat you want that won’t give away who the team is let me know. None of these teams have ever made the playoff.

How are we ranking? Just the one that looks the most attractive to us?

    SOS Average Over 5 Years:

    Team 1: 24.6
    Team 2: 31
    Team 3: 14.6
    Team 4: 9.6

I should have included this stat at the beginning.

My side of the argument is team 2 has hands down been better, teams 1 and 3 are indistinguishable, and team 4 shouldn’t be included in the same discussion with the other 3 schools.

    I think I would go 3-2-1-4.

I mostly agree, minus #2's SOS.

2-1-3-4 would be my ranking based on 30 seconds of review of the data given.

#3 tops the list, especially given the SOS component added later.

What if I told you 3 and 2 played twice in the past 5 years and each team won once? Both at neutral sites and both close games.

Team #2 has some gaudy numbers, but they are making a championship game every year, so I'm guessing they are in a 2nd tier conference (especially considering their lack of draftees).

I would tell you Team #3 is in a power 5 league, a really good (but not elite) program, with so-so coaching but great athletes. Team #2 is from a non-power league, a bit of a darling with a coach who is well thought of, but not producing a ton of high-end players.

    My two cents.

I'd still give #3 the slight edge.
