I say 5 - UofL, Samford, Kent St, WKY and Miss St.

UT and Vandy winnable, and would not surprise me if they found a 6th win here.

Georgia(who we always seem to play tough), Arkansas(whole coaching situation), and Missou(they don't play much D in the Big 12 so we'll see) are slight possibles but very unlikely.

    Florida and USC not happening.

Just curious...what is leading to your confidence in the Cats over the Cards?

Well, Louisville is a mediocre program subject to lose any game at any time just like UK is. I think defense will be the difference. I think the Cats will improve on what was an already pretty good defense last year and will win a close low scoring game. Being a rivalry game, of course anything can happen.

Agree don't have a lot of faith in Newton. If he is QB 2 or 3 wins.

I'd like to hear what makes UofL such a favorite over UK on here? Both teams were not very good last year, UofL was 7-6 and UK was 5-7...

From my perspective, UL will be the more "seasoned" team. Our QB is highly rated, and since we were so young overall last year, we start a still-young team with significant experience. I think our Offense is better than UK's offense, especially in the skill positions. I think our Defense is much better than UK's, especially the line. And, lastly, I think our coaching is better.

After reading the the head coach said that the quarterback competition was wide open and very close I will say UK goes 1-11.

Louisville beat UK at home last year with a freshman QB playing in his first game. UofL returns 18 starters. Better on offense. Better on defense. Playing at home. Pretty simple really...

Max Smith will be much improved over what Newton gave UK last year vs UofL...I think UK is pretty even in the running game and O line, special teams and also the D line...Bridgewater is a better QB right now and they have better WRs...Neither teams are powerhouses...UofL would really struggle against UKs schedule year in year out...UofL got beat by Marshall and FIU last year and barely beat Murray St...

Louisville is better at EVERY skill position. And it's not close, IMHO. UL's defense is significantly better. More talent, more depth, more experience. Obviously Louisville would struggle in the SEC (same tired argument), as most non-powerhouse schools do. That says absolutely nothing to make UK any better than they are.

Oh here we go. Louisville beats a few bad teams last year and now it's not even close. UofL football fans are the most delusional fan base in America and that my friend is not even close.

I liked what I saw from Max Smith. Guy was a Freshman put in to a terrible situation. He did not seem scared of the situation and performed ok I thought.

UL should win and should win by 2+ TDs.

For the thread, I am thinking 4 wins. Last night on ESPN they predicted 3 victories. I think they will find a way to steal another one outside of the "gimme" games which will not be gimmes.

Regarding UL, I'm not sold that they're going to have a breakout season. I wouldn't call a 7-6 campaign, highlighted with losses to FIU, Marshall & then NC State in the coveted Belk Bowl something to build on.

But in comparison with UK, I think UL's talent is just better and more experienced across the board. UK's calling card last year, if you can call it that, was defense. They have to replace their two best players on D. And as much as I love Joker, I'm not looking forward to an endless string of swing passes on 3rd & Long. Then I consider that the game is at Papa John's, so I see UL as a clear favorite over the Cats. I'm thinking some thing like 24-10.

or transfer. Unless Joker figures out a way to get a decent O-Line into Lexington, they are going to be the worst team in the SEC East. Vandy has leap frogged them.
