Nov 30, 19, 09:29 PM #19Certainly didn't expect a blowout either way, but the Cats were absolutely dominant throughout. Ground game was incredible, from runners to the offensive line.
Love Lynn Bowden and everything he's been able to do this year. Chris Rodriguez was great too. That young man is full of promise. Just a great day for UK all around.
As Deuce and Double Deuce said, UL has made tremendous progress in just one year. While today's outcome wasn't at all what the Cards wanted, their season has been very successful.

Nov 30, 19, 09:31 PM #20Louisville defense recruiting took a hit last few years since having different defensive coordinator each year under Petrino. Going to take Satterfield at least couple of years to get that side of ball shored up. Stoops has built KY up over last few years and took some time to do that. I think once Satterfield has time to build his roster how he wants this game will be back to being competitive again.

Nov 30, 19, 11:04 PM #24Honestly I don't think you were the only one surprised. My cats are as one dimentional as it gets but they have been getting better at that style of offense now that they're forced to use it. I know Stoops isn't getting bonuses now but if he was he should donate it to Bowden once he turns pro. That young man has essentially saved the season.
I'm not taking credit away from the linemen or backs, but without Bowden being such a great athlete they would be lucky to get bowl eligible, given that they don't have a quarterback.

I have to give big credit to Stoops and the coaching staff. This was supposed to be a down year for UK and they still reached 7-5 (albeit with their weakest conference schedule since 1992 or so IIRC), a record that could've easily been 9-3 if things had panned out in the second half against Florida and Tennessee. Getting another bowl game is always a plus with the additional practices and that's always the mark of a good season in my book for the Cats.
I also have to think this is a good step in the right direction for Louisville. They will also go bowling and I think Satterfield has them on the right track, although it will take time to rebuild a good defense that can compete in and out of the ACC.
