Pretty big get for the Cats. Beau Allen and Scalzo will probably look to the portal, assuming Allen signs. That’s big boy recruiting for you though.

If Beau redshirts next season, which he should, he'd have two seasons after Gatewood if Gatewood beat him out.

He would have to wait a total of 3 years, to get 2 years too play QB right?

If Gatewood beat him out and there were no injuries. Neither of which is a sure thing.

Given how little he played this year, is there any reason he wouldn't apply for a waiver to play next year?

He played quite a bit. Kind of played that Tim Tebow role when Florida won the national championship in 06. Only difference being Tebow was getting in because he was too talented to keep off the field and had a completely different skillset than Chris Leak. Gatewood was getting in because Auburn didn’t want him to transfer. Clearly didn’t work.

I look for Beau Allen to stay at the school he really wants to play for, redshirt, sit a couple years at UK while the coaches play other QB's, then transfer to LSU, lead them to a national title, win the Heisman and become the #1 pick in the NFL draft.

This is a good pick up for UK; not necessarily because of the ranking coming out of high school, but because of added depth at the QB position.

Couldn't he play next year if he transferred out of conference?

Nice pull for Stoops and Marrow.
