The #14 Concordia Cardinals wracked up a big win against MSFA newcomer Lawrence Tech 56-7. It was supposed to go this way and except for the early score by the Blue Devils to tie the score 7-7, it was all CUAA. There was a cold Michigan wind that was held mostly at bay by the Lawrence Tech stadium home-side bleachers. The Blue Devils' field is really nice and when they get the locker rooms and concession stand with restrooms finished, this will be one nice venue. The Blue Devils are 1-8 on the season as they try to navigate the tough MSFA conference. Their lone win was against D3, Wisconsin Lutheran.
Along with the high score, the Cardinals posted 554 total yards of offense. The Cardinal defense yielded 242 yards to the Blue Devil offense.
Lawrence Tech will finish their season next week at Taylor University. Concordia will host Indiana Wesleyan University next week for its Senior Day. The Wildcats have had a very good season in only their second season of football. They fell out of the top 25 with their loss to Marian last week. CUAA moved up two spots to #12 after their win against Lawrence Tech. The game against IWU is a must win for CUAA if they hope to gain a playoff bid.
Worth Mentioning: Lindsey Wilson College (KY) sits at #7 and from the same conference is University of the Cumberlands (KY) at #8 in this week's Coaches' Top 25 Poll.
