That's not a bad idea. I'll go Florida because they have a natural rivalry with two schools on the list.

People love to root against these schools. People care about these schools. Either you love them or you hate them. When these teams are good I think it brings more national attention to the sport.

For me personally I think Oklahoma is just outside this list. I don't think Oklahoma gets people as fired up as the other schools on this list. I don't think people hate Oklahoma as much as they do the other schools on the list.

I was just messing with MTGL. I knew exactly what team he was talking about.

I can't believe I just said Ohio State, but rooting for whomever plays them is a major interest of mine.
What did you think of the National Championship in 2003? Rooting for Ohio St. or The U?

Seems like college football really hasn't been all that good, since many of the teams mentioned haven't really been good in a while. Miami's old villain act has been long gone, basically since Jimmy Johnson left over 20 years ago. Notre Dame hasn't had their mystique since Lou Holtz. Texas and USC have done nothing in 15 or so years. Of the list you mentioned, really only Alabama and Ohio State have been relevant over the last 10+years.

I think college football is at it's best when the blue bloods are good....but that's not to say college football is not good right now. The numbers say college football is very good right now. TV Contracts, PAC 12 Network, BIG Network, SEC Network, ACC Network....CBS, FOX, ESPN, ABC, and NBC. Look at the coaches salaries....I'd say college football is doing pretty good right now though.

I probably should add Texas to my trio.
