Nov 29, 17, 06:36 AM #31I tend to agree with Danny Kanell...
"This whole thing is a sham built to drive ratings - not true champions. We should stop calling it a playoff and just call it an invitational. That’s all it is."
ESPN and their committee are ruining college football. Despite, or more so, because of their efforts, overall attendance and TV ratings continue to drop.Advertisement

Nov 29, 17, 06:52 AM #32I agree with what Cowherd said last night. With these rankings the committee went ahead and let us all know that Ohio State isn't making the playoff by simply beating Wisconsin. They need Oklahoma to lose as well to have a shot.

Nov 29, 17, 06:57 AM #34I'm not sure what everyone is complaining about. It's set up to get the best 4 teams in the playoff. Clemson, Alabama, Auburn and Oklahoma are the best 4 teams. Wisconsin will be in with a win. Georgia will be in with a win.

Nov 29, 17, 07:06 AM #36Same with Miami (FL). What will be interesting (to me) is what happens if Ohio State beats Wisconsin and Oklahoma loses. I don't see anyway the committee can put the Buckeyes in over Oklahoma after the beatdown they gave them in Columbus.
Same goes for Clemson. If they lose, does a 2 loss Ohio State get in over them?

Ohio State will be in over Oklahoma is TCU beats them. Is Oklahoma going to stay in the top 4? USC isn't going to jump them because they knock off a top 12 team if OSU knocks off a top 4 team. If they wanted to give TCU a chance to jump OSU they would have put them at 9 this week. It basically has to be Ohio State at that point because they will be the only team left. Oklahoma is going to win though so it doesn't really matter. And No Clemson doesn't get in over Ohio State. With the same record the committee says that head to head and conference championships are tiebreakers.

Nov 29, 17, 07:37 AM #39Just for the potential of it causing the playoffs to grow, I hope all four of the top teams lose this weekend. Give me chaos. I want to see the committe squirm.

Nov 29, 17, 08:12 AM #40I can't help but smile about the OSU fans crying foul already after their team gets in last year with 2 losses and no conference title.

Nov 29, 17, 08:17 AM #42Fact is someone will always be butt hurt because everyone has their own criteria for deciding who the best teams are. Either you put in the 4 teams you think are the best or you put in the 4 teams you feel are the most deserving.
