So far this year LSU has played four teams with top 20 defenses. In those games LSU has scored 42, 24, 46, and 37. So that one dimensional offense you speak of, hasn’t seemed easy to stop for other top defenses. Keep in my also that Clemsons defense while still good, is not the same defense as last years Clemson team, not even close to as good as last years honestly.

I think we will see a high scoring game in the title game.
I can’t wait to watch. Clemson defense may be not as good as last year, but statistically and by eye test, Clemson defense is the best in the land. Defense wins championships.

    A few things...

Clemson's pass defense has performed much better than LSU's this year, but there isn't much difference in the run defense. Clemson gave up just 14 yards less than LSU (106-120) against a much softer schedule.

Both offenses are elite so no point in arguing that.

You keep saying that LSU hasn't seen anyone like Clemson or OSU... I would disagree. Bama is the most talented team in the country and the NFL mock drafts agree considering they're projecting 9 Crimson Tide players to be taken in the first round.

Call the SEC overrated all you want but LSU is battle tested and Clemson isn't going to throw anything at them that they haven't already seen or faced.

Statistically and eye test they aren’t the best this year. Especially when watching them and OSU. Just based off eye test I would have taken OSU defense. Pass rush and in the secondary so much better. Now Clemson defensive coordinator is great though.

Clemson is on a 29 game win streak. I thought they had no chance last year against Bama and this year against OSU. I will never underestimate them again!

I suppose it depends on what metric you are using, but Clemson has the #1 scoring defense in the country. Obviously the schedule is weaker compared to most P5 schools, so that tilts the numbers.

LSU resume looks really good on paper but Georgia was not that great, Texas was dumpster, Alabama was a shell of what they’ve been. LSU is really good but they haven’t faced the caliber of OSU and Clemson. They haven’t been tested through adversity. We’ll see.

LSU will score. But, Joe Burrow isn’t going to be throwing rainbows across his body as he runs out of bounds for 50 yds against Clemson.

Well that didn’t go over to well lol. LSU could have put a 50 spot on the board if they want too. Plus Burrow did light them up just like he has every single defense in college football.

Well if I actually knew the future I’d be in the islands buddy. Congrats on your prediction that matched everyone else. I underestimated the LSU defense. Congrats to the LSU Tigers, they had the team.

Both schools should have made a side bet, the loser can no longer call their field Death Valley.

It’s amazing to me how much better LSU became in the second half of the season. The D improved down the stretch and Joe decided to go into all-time great mode.

I think OSU would have played them closer but I still think we would have lost last night as well, if I’m being honest.

I honestly agree with this. I think it would have been a high scoring game and would have been closer because I think OSU offense was better than Clemsons and would have scored more. Yet LSU would have still won.

I agree. LSU was clicking on every level. I was very impressed with LSU's defense. No one else has been able to get Lawrence off kilter like they did.

LSU's defense was better than Clemson's, no way Ohio State scores more against LSU. Remember, after a hot start Clemson nearly held OSU scoreless for three quarters. OSU struggled to score against the only athletic defense they faced after Clemson adjusted. After that hot start Clemson outscored them 29 to 7. Burrow would have buried them.

If I remember correctly, in their 3 playoff games before last night, Clemson gave up only 7 second half points - the 7 OSU scored.
