Lots of reasons he was starting. Hurts is considered one of the best runners on the team, Tagovailao is nowhere near him; he was 25-2, he simply does not turn the ball over and he doesn't get flustered.

That said, they're going to have one heck of a QB battle this year. Hurts ability to run vs Tagovailao's passing ability will be fun to follow. They're both going to improve leaps and bounds.

He also doesn’t score points against Georgia. Tua led them to 26 in one half and 1 OT. I get Hurts will have the opportunity to win his job back, but the job isn’t his as far as I’m concerned.

You asked why he was starting, I told you. GA had a top ten team against the pass and they dared Hurts to beat them passing. He wasn't up to it. That doesn't negate that he took Bama to two NC games in his first two years. Never been done.

I don't think the job is anyone's at this point which is why I think it will be fun following the action. Spring game could be must see TV.

Maybe some of the posters on here should look in the mirror when they say UK fans are obnoxious.

I can always start using my "Ignore" button again.

Every successful team has it's group of obnoxious fans. Kind of how you tell how successful a program is.

Saban is loyal to a fault with those recruits. His loyalty to Hurts almost cost this team a title. I don't think Hurts gets the job back, Tua will only get stronger physically. Hurts was handicapped by Saban. Saban likes ugly wins, don't turn the ball over and lets play defense and force the other team to make mistakes. But what this team needed was someone to distribute the ball to all those playmakers on the field. Tua is a qb and Saban can't handcuff him, kid is a baller.

You don’t have to discuss being loyal to a fault with me. Urban is equally as bad about it as Saban is. When you have a guy as talented as Calvin Ridley and you can’t get him the ball something is wrong. He’s going to be the first receiver taken in the draft this year and he was essentially a non factor in Bamas season. Hurts doesn’t do anything wrong. You’re not going to lose a game because he plays horrible. But he can’t win you a game like Auburn or Georgia when the team needs to be put on his back. He played very well at the end of the championship game last year and had them in position to win if not for Deshaun Watson. Tagovailoa is a different animal. He has that it factor Watson has.

For real? Didn't Tennessee State have a coach assaulted by a player just last season

I had seen a tweet right after that happened where somebody said, "#48 (forget his name) gone from Alabama only to land at Middle Tennessee State only to never be heard of again." Nothing against either institution, but at least they called the right state.

As Larry the Cable Guy once made popular, "That's funny I don't care who you are."
