I would be disappointed with any coach mentioned on this thread.
- Apr 5, 07, 02:33 PM #23Not great X's and O's. He can definitely recruit, but the in game coaching just doesnt seem to be there.

I guess of those mentioned, I wouldnt want Crean. Not a proven winner, not a proven recruiter.

I am in the dark when it comes to Billy Gillespie. What has he ever done besides this past season to deserve a job like UK??
- Apr 5, 07, 02:37 PM #26I just know they finished no. 16 in the final coaches' poll. I'd take a 16 spot for UK basketball right now.

And yes, I saw Texas play about fifteen times this year (man-crush alert!) so I feel I'm qualified to say all of this.

Not Crean. Not Gillespie. Not Pelphrey.

I haven't really seen a coach I like. I didn't really like the sound of Donovan either, but at least he could have managed the situation immediately.
- Apr 5, 07, 02:45 PM #30Would you say Rick Barnes would be a quick fix type of guy ? You said it yourself, he had great players, big time recruits, I would have loved to had those kids at Kentucky this year.

I'll give two, Barnes or Gillespie, who I believe will get the job.*
*I have no sources telling me that thse two are the top choices. I'm just speculating.

I don't think I would want Barnes, Crean, or Izzo. Phelphrey or Gillespie I coud live with or maybe even Tubby! Let's get him back!

I dont think anyone has mentioned Pearl yet. Everyone cool with him or does everyone just think he isnt even close to being a candidate ?
- Apr 5, 07, 03:01 PM #35Not a candidate.

Not Pelphrey or Ford.
I think Ford was about 2-12 against Lindsey Wilson's Hall of Fame Coach Steve Dodd while Ford was NAIA.
Let's try Pitino again, Pat Riley, Few or Billy G.
Steve Dodd over Ford!!
- Apr 5, 07, 03:06 PM #37I originally thought that, but I also really felt that Billy would be the next guy at Kentucky. I dont know what to think at this point.

I don't want Crean and I am not sure Pelphrey has enough head coaching experience for UK.

Pat Summit.....Just kidding, I'd love to have her.
