Yes and they have perhaps the best mid-major player in American (Alec Peters)

    Tough one for the Norse.

Drew will probably just want to destroy the tape on this one. Rough game for him.

Coach has this team playing a full forty. They didn't and won't ever quit.

Understand his players love his program.
Know Drew. What major city are they near?

Valpo is about 60 miles outside of Chicago. Very close to Gary, IN.

Peters & the point guard (Carter) were very impressive in 1st half, then in 2nd half their #11 was really good, a 6'7" kid playing point forward. As most have stated, Valpo represents the goal for NKU.

NKU's Holland is a nice player. I've gone to 2 games thus far (Wright St & Valpo); McDonald has been overmatched. The Murray kid looks good walking on the floor, but disappears in the games. Billups does good things, but needs a fellow post player (taller) to play with.

Murray is a 3 point specialist. He just struggles to get his shot off against some of the more athletic competition (see yesterday's game).

Holland is very good. He'll do some pretty big things over the next two seasons IMO.

McDonald is a bit overmatched against some teams with comparable size and athleticism (Wright St and Valpo are two of those teams), but for a freshman he's light years ahead of where anyone expected him to be.

It's a process to build a program, and Holland and McDonald are two very nice pieces to start with IMO.

I would say brand recognition. Not only the school but he Drew family name.

I hate saying it, but state of Indiana has more D1 prospects than KY. Playing in-state is a factor for many. I'm sure proximity to Chicago doesnt hurt either.

Your basing your observations on games against the best 2 teams in the conference. No one expects NKU to come in and beat these 2 teams immediately.
They handled a good Oakland team (took Mich ST. to overtime) last week, so it isn't as bleak as some make it out to be. Keep in mind Holland is a soph and McDonald a frosh.
