Saw that it's a 6 year deal worth $24 million.

Pretty interesting to see UCLA fans upset with the hire when UC boat raced the Bruins by 30 this year.

Sure UC has "under performed" in the post-season, but do we not think Cronin can get better talent at UCLA than he had at UC?

Good for both UCLA and Mick. I think he will have a lot of success there.

That’s just it, at UC he had to lure players, at UCLA he’s on 3rd base. Let’s see what he can do with it. Regardless, it was the right move, all of that money is in the bank.

I am not sure if I am thinking the same thing as each of you or not but it seems to me UCLA is a prime location to "cheat the system" and quickly build an empire.

Pretty good money for a kid from LaSalle who used to hustle bets at River Downs.

I agree with the recruiting point, recruiting players to come to California over Cincinnati likely won’t be a hard sell. The things to consider will be if he actually does and winning.

How much was Cronin making at UC? Did he take a pay cut to go to UCLA taking the cost of living in Los Angeles into consideration?

2.2 at Cincy, Cincy is lucky to keep coaches as long as they do.

The cost of living for a homeowner is about 115% higher in LA vs Cincinnati. More if you live in affluent areas. As far as his salary goes, give or take, I'd say he about broke even. However, his endorsement opportunities will be greater out there.

Also, he was at least only 4th in the pecking order.
