    Kind of cool being a Murray State guy that Cronin has ascended (even by default) to one of the premier jobs in college basketball.

    Umm, no. The City is much more fond of every coach that has moved on from Murray State. Not a fan favorite.

    They did it 50 years ago with Sam Gilbert as the sugar daddy. No reason they can’t do it again with the right man in place. He provided Wooden with NBA teams in the era before players left school early. Stockpiled enormous talent. The backup center to Walton had a nice career in the NBA but couldn’t start for the Bruins.
