Texas Tech vs Virginia (NCAA Tournament Championship) Predictions

Should be a low scoring affair.

First to 60 wins if either even gets to 60. Defense has carried the day in this NCAA tournament.

I’m taking Texas Tech by 6 or so.

Virginia is very lucky to be playing Monday night and they just haven’t looked like a team that is playing at their best.

Texas Tech has been beating good teams. I feel like UVA has been skating by and getting plenty of help from their opponents.

Texas Tech has a 14 point win average over the tournament and a 12 point average from the sweet 16 on.

UVA has won games by an average of 7.4 for the tournament and around 3.5 since the sweet 16.

I believe TT will open as the favorite in Vegas.

I’d be happy for either team to win this one but I’ll put my money on the Red Raiders.

I think that Texas Tech wins due to being better defensively. Their bench is probably another factor too.

Virginia not playing their best really all tournament is why I am picking them. They haven't played their best and still have made the finals. I would say odds are they may finally play their best game. Plus the game will also be played at a pace that they are perfectly fine with. They seem like a team of destiny. Two times opposing teams had over a 95% chance to win with less than 10 seconds left, and both times Virginia somehow won. It seems like it's meant to happen since they lost to a 16 seed last year.

Regardless of who wins, I’m glad that both are playing in their first national championship.

I get what you’re saying, it kind of does seem like predestination, especially after today and against Purdue. On the other side, I think that Texas Tech poses as their biggest defensive challenge that they have faced. Pace won’t be an issue though due to both playing at the same pace.

Both teams are deserving to be there. Both play the game hard, rely on tough defense, rebounding to win and are very well coached. That's my kind of basketball and I look forward to watching the game.

I'll pick UVA by 6, hitting ft's down the stretch to close it out.

Hoping Texas Tech can win, but I would not bet on it.

I want Virginia to lose, which means they’ll find some way to win in ridiculous fashion, again.
