- Shawn Jackson, who has signed with Murray State, will participate in the FABC All-Star basketball game tomorrow night at Vanguard High School (Fl.)

- The Baltimore Sun reports that Maryland is still in the running for Huntington Prep big man Gorgui Dieng. Dieng is visiting Colorado this weekend and then visits to Marquette and either Maryland or Wake Forest. A decision is expected in about a week and a half.

- Shelby Valley's Ashley Hatfield has committed to Transylvania University (complete story coming later tonight)

- Mercer County's Jamel Taylor has committed to Vol State Junior College in Nashville, Tennessee; he received a full scholarship (article later)

- Ricardo Johnson from Covington Holmes has officially signed with Ohio University

- Middlesboro's Blaine Green has signed with Alice Lloyd College

- Kentucky recruit Jarrod Polson is now hearing from Eastern Kentucky, Morehead State, Nichols State, Montana State, Liberty and several other schools

- Jeffersontown's Thomas Jackson has committed to Kankakee Junior College (Ill.)

- The Adidas Appalachian All-Star Classic will be played this weekend at Perry Central High School; there will be a boys' tripleheader beginning at 2:00 p.m and a girls game on Sunday. The Adidas event features teams from Regions 12-16.
