That kid from Seton Hall couldn't do that again if his life depended on it.

Ball needed to be in Johnson's hands the entire final possession.

Tyler Herro is 1-12 from 3 in UK's two losses.

If he can't hit shots, he's nothing but a liability because he couldn't guard Sumo's bag of candy.

Hagan was obivious to the urgency of last possession. Disastrous situation awareness. Just terrible for a D1 caliber PG. Just horrible.

It’s a good thing Seton Hall couldn’t hit a free throw or it would’ve been an easy win, not OT. UK can’t make a three footer or three pointer. Brutal to watch.

I only saw a couple of times where U.K. defended the three, or even attempted to. Herro can't hit a bull in the butt with a bass fiddle when it matters, he doesn't get his feet set / takes unbalanced, hurried shots. SHU hit the big shots when it mattered, you have to give them credit for that. I thought that Washington really stepped up today, especially down the stretch in the 2nd half.
    K. Willard imo is one of the better, most underrated coaches anywhere. WHY Cal will not take a t/o on a critical last possession, I will never understand . That's been his thinking on that situation throughout his career and before at U.K., he imo lost a national championship game w/ Memphis by not calling one, setting something up for a last shot.
On to practice, get better and get ready for Utah next Sat..

Johnson and / or Washington. Hence, my earlier comment about the t/o before the last possession.

I get what you're saying but I disagree. Guys just aren't stepping up and this year more than most, the learning curve is being exposed.

UK lost their glue guy, Reid with fouls. Problem is that UK still doesn't have an identity at PG but they're really lacking and needing a true inside presence as well. Whether that's Montgomery playing a stretch 5 or Richard's not leaving the paint, this team can't figure it out. They've got a solid month and a half to figure out something. If one of those roles gets filled I think the other will just play out. Can't get upset about being average at times, not in December. If we are still having these conversations in February I will agree that Cal is exposed.

I told my wife if Hagans misses one of those FT we would lose. They made everything. Big time college has to make those clutch FT or you lose. Herro was a liability to say the least.

How does UK get so confused on defense on the last possession that four different players were wide open. Running at them with your hand up is not defense.

Hmmm hard to say that imo. I wouldn't say the 2011 team was said to have a superstar on the team at the beginning of the year and they made the final four with Josh Harrellson playing center. 2014 didnt have a true superstar as you said and they made the finals.

This years team definitely has enough talent. Just have to put it together still.

The hot 3 shooting definitely hurt UK but what hurt more was Seton’s Hall’s first 8 points in the overtime was on 4 layups against a weak man defense. Absolutely a must to force them into tough makes in that situation but UK gave up layups!!! Too easy.

There is nothing more entertaining to read on BGP than a UK basketball thread after a loss.

And that is because most fool themselves into falling in love annually and are surprised when we get abandoned at the altar. Is that a paraphrase of Einstein's definition of insanity?
