Wall's height with his skill set, and 30 NBA GM's would agree with you. He'd be the first name outta Adam Silvers mouth come draft day.

John Wall is a great NBA player, I believe with a 3.5 to 1 turnover ratio, ability to knock down jump shots, ability to run half court sets against zone defenses and the intangibles all make Ulis a better college point.

Would have been interesting to see John Wall stay for one more year at UK and then evaluate.

Would have also been interesting to see Ulis lead the Cousins team. I'm a John Wall guy, hard to knock on him!

Ulis is a better shooter than Wall, but I don't need my PG to be a good shooter, necessarily.

Agreed, especially if you have other guys that can shoot it. However if given the choice, give me a good shooter. Ulis assist to turnover ratio is considerably better, for me this is the most important stat for a point guard.

As a college point guard I wouldn't. His and that teams biggest flaw was their inability to shoot. Not to mention Wall got to play with the best big man in basketball that year. College bball teams were able to pack the lanes on Wall. He was still great obviuosly, but I would take Ullis. Now as a NBA pg its Wall and its not even close. The NBA game and how much more space there is plays perfect for Wall.

Wall wouldn't have had to be a good shooter as long as somebody on the team was a good shooter. Had Jodie Meeks stuck around there is no doubt in my mind that team would have been cutting down the nets in April.

Ulis is great, but John Wall did some things that Ulis will never be capable of doing. As someone already pointed out Ulis is putting up these numbers as a Soph. and has improved drastically since his Frosh year. Can you image how much better Wall could have been had he returned for another year.

Wall had the best big man in college basketball with him and also a very talented future NBA player in Bledsoe next to him. Wall was absolutely great in the full court. But look what happened when teams actually made UK play a half court game. The half court offense under him was not that great and why the ultimately failed. While a team much less talented the next year did make the final four because at the end of the day that team could play a half court game because of Knight.

Wall was a great pg, but as a college of I take Ullis. In the NBA I take wall, who's game fit even better in the NBA.

It's hard not to think of a Diamond Rio song when this comes to mind, "What Might Have Been". I feel like I think about it at least once a season haha.

Ulis does things that you'll never see on paper. He is truly a floor general out there.

Would this team be better if you swapped Ulis out for Wall? I don't think so.

Would the 09-10 team be better if you swapped Wall out for Ulis? I don't think so either, but maybe we would have had someone knock down a few outside shots against WVU and maybe guard Mazzulla.

Pretty much agree. You put Wall on this team and then this team had less shooting than it already had and still no inside game. Put Ullis on that team, and they are a little better shooting team, have a guy in Ullis who could get in the middle of the zone defenses to hit a mid range jump shot. Plus you still have a great inside game with Cousins and Patterson.

What is great is we can have this debate because that shows we have been lucky to have a few great pgs under Cal.
