On that same note, He’s not as terrible as Billy Reed when he fills in on the Deener show in the morning. He’s just aweful.
Agree. Billy Reed is painfully bad.

I will be happy to share the process through with many UL fans went through. But in reality nothing will be well received by those who are reveling in the tumble of U of L basketball. Is there a place for derision? I’m not sure. I guess to each their own. But, I sort of feel that no one can tell us how we should act in such a situation because it hasn’t happened - there is no precedent.

I know that over the last couple of years I’ve felt disbelief, anger, incredulity, hope, despair....I know that I have gone from defending Rick Pitino to hoping he’d leave. I still believe him, but I no longer excuse his lack of responsibility because he didn’t know. I realize he needed to depart l. I am not sure yet how I feel about Jurich. As to the rest of the mess at UL with the Governors interference and the wackadoo board, and the foundation issues, Getslow expresses my feelings much more eloquently.

There is still a lot to get through for UL fans. At some point we have to move forward in something. Doesn’t mean the disappointment isn’t palpable. For most of us, we have 0 influence on anything at UL, athletic or academic. I’m still a CARD though.

Anywho, It is very interesting the moral authority so many people assume when their rival is hitting rock-bottom. Peace, love, L1C4.

Well said Mom. As I have said, I have no dog in this fight. I don't revel in the U of L's pain. I just listened to Pitino and liked what he said for the most part...and did not expect to when I started listening. I think we all agree he had to go however. I feel bad for U of L fans...the fans and the players on that team DO NOT deserve to see that NC vacated IMO.

There are lots of lessons for all to learn. One of the most important, maybe more for the “big guys” who rely heavily on staff, is never blindly trust your staff. If there is one single person I won’t forgive ever, it’s Andre McGee. And that a crushing to me, because he was a favorite of mine when he played. I feel like he betrayed everyone. Probably unreasonable, but I don’t care.

With all of the rumors going on regarding other programs across the country, I'd be very apprehensive to get too excited about any team's sorrow.

I, for one, root for U of L whenever they play anyone except for UK or some of the other in-state schools. No one should be happy about them having their national title stripped away. Obviously, a lot of mistakes have been made but there are lots of great U of L fans that are hurting over this and that's not something to be happy about. Let's face it, UK may be on the other end of this someday(AGAIN). I'm still gonna be cheering the Cards on(especially when they take on the likes of Duke and UNC).

I would imagine that while what Penn State did was 100% morally and ethically worse that strippers/hookers paid for by UL bball progam, it wasn't cheating. Completely different types of scandals.

I think you’re probably right, in regard to the NCAA reasoning.

But couldn’t it also be argued that Paterno and Sandusky played a major influence in the outcome of those games that were played. I feel like what happened would have to make them ineligible(Granted, I have no clue if there was a rule to account for that type of moral corruption, but if there wasn’t, there should have been)

I can only speak for where I work. There's some where around 30 Louisville guys. I'd say it's roughly 65/35.

65% are sick of it and want to put this behind them and move on.

35% are still stuck in the Louisville is getting screwed, they didn't do anything wrong, everyone is out to get them mode.

I will say the 35% is shrinking.

While it was horrible, it had nothing to do with recruiting or play would be my guess.

Here's one thing I've noticed. People who aren't UL fans assume that UL fans who think UL is getting screwed thinks UL did nothing wrong. I know 0 UL fans who think we did nothing wrong. But most think that UL is definitely being punished more harshly than anticipated based upon NCAA history. A lot feel there's something other at play than just this situation, bad blood, per se. I do know a not insignificant number that feel we are getting screwed royally, but still understand that we had punishment coming. Never met anyone who felt we had done nothing wrong and should have no punishment.

Exactly. Couldn't have said it better myself. Just because people think the NCAA's rulings are inconsistent does not mean they think UofL did nothing wrong and shouldn't have been punished. That's simply not the case.
