Louisville - In or Out?

Page 4 of They are definitely a bubble team. The thing that doesn't make sense to me is if Florida St. or Virginia Tech are in and Louisville is out. What do you... 51 comments | 1592 Views | Go to page 1 →

In the interview that was televised yesterday after the selections the head of the committee said Oklahoma was the last team in. That is what I was going by.

Also, I don't think the last teams into the tournament are necessarily playing in Dayton. The last at large team in the tournament is probably ranked number 45 or so in the RPI. That means there are 23 teams considered lower-ranked than them in the tournament.

The last teams in the tournament always play in the First Four in Dayton. St. Bonaventure, UCLA, Arizona State and Syracuse were the last 4 teams to make the field.

Don't you get some tournament money if you get in, bubble or not??

Listening to the committee chair yesterday he specifically said Oklahoma was in comfortably, and their free-fall simply impacted their seeding. Barkley took him to task for it.

The last team in was Syracuse, and Davidson winning the A10 knocked Notre Dame out of the field according to the chair.

Not sure how the NCAA splits the money. I don't know if it is like the regional where you get a cut only if you make it. I'm guessing the NIT gives money or some teams would refuse the bid? I remember a few years ago ND turned down a football bowl bid as they said it would cost more to transport the team, band cheerleaders, etc that the bowl was paying out.
