I also like the 4 quarter setup better than the 20 minute halves.

There are 2 fewer media timeouts. Instead of under 16, under 12, under 8, and under 4 timeouts in each half. You have an under 5 in each quarter the the quarter break. In fact, any team timeout prior to the 5 minute mark in a quarter is considered the media timeout.

No one and one foul situations, anymore. The team fouls reset to 0 prior the start of each quarter and players are awarded 2 shots on the opposing team's 5th foul of each quarter.

Another of the rule changes the NCAA made a couple of years ago reflected and old NBA rule. I don't know whether the NBA still does it or not. Inside the last minute of a game or an overtime, a team can call time out after an opposing team basket and the ball is advanced to mid court. I have been surprised at how it affects time out usage. Conserve them or use them? It's changed game play more than I expected.

I like all of these rules, and wish they'd do the same on the men's side.
Agree with all of this. The men's game needs to adopt the timing/rules that the women use.

Doesn't the men's international game use quarters? I'm for anything that reduces the number of stoppages of play.
