I, as well as many others felt that they would win some where in the 12-15 point range. Well we were right. LRCW I don't usually call people out but you said a lot of people were acting like it would be a blow out and many said no, BUT they would still win by that amount. It certainly wasn't a blowout and they did win by that amount.

If you had told me before the game that IU would score 90 points...

Just went back and looked at the play by play and UK shot 14 Free Throws down the stretch from about the 2:30 mark so subtract that from the 37 to get 23 FT's up to that point. As a comparison, IU took 2 free throws during that stretch as well.
IU was 13-17 from the FT Line.
UK was 35-37.
With the adjusted numbers to the fouling down the stretch...
IU was 11-15
Kentucky was 21-23.
So 8 free throws was the difference in the ball game. I only post this as I've been going through the countless forums on the internet and there are plenty of people complaining about the free throws. Definitely puts perspective on the freebies each team had for the game before all the fouling started.

UK is the first game at 2:20. Jay Bilas just said Kentucky is better than he thought they were and he thought they were the best team anyway. I think IU had two choices slow down and zone or man up and play a track meet. Kentucky said you want a track meet, you got one, we'll beat you either way. Whether they win 60 - 54 or 102-90, a win is a win, does not matter how they do it. This game does show what a difference Davis makes in the game as he turned IU from a 3 point shooting team to a dribble drive. I would say I was nervous for a bit, but NEVER doubted they would win.

Great game for the Cats. You could see they wanted this one really bad. Also good to see them not crumble with Davis on the bench.
Gained a heckuva lot of respect for the Hoosiers in this one...Much better squad than I gave them credit for. They're going to be a real title contender next season if Zeller stays in school.
Can't help but root for a guy like Crean, even if he is coaching one of UK's rivals. Seems like a fantastic guy, let alone coach.
Loved his line after the game. Something along the lines of, "They're really good. They've got a NBA 1st round draft pick coming off the bench."

Baylor doesn't scare me. They're incredibly undisciplined. As was mentioned during the game with Xavier, they're one of those teams that their offense dictates their defense. If they aren't scoring, they aren't defending. Those are the types of teams UK can, and normally does, go on long runs against. I see about a 8-12 point win that's never really in doubt.

I agree "Clyde".
It is great having Indiana back on the basketball map. I really liked this Indiana team and Tom Crean is obviously an elite level coach.
Only problem with the rivalry is that Coach Cal is going to kill it. He has said he does not like playing against buddies and Tom Crean is one of Cal's best buddies in the business.
I have enjoyed these games between UK and IU for many years. In fact, what still is the best basketball game I have attended was the classic UK/IU game on March 22, 1975 in Dayton, Ohio.

I enjoyed watching Remy Abell in this one. Another KY product from last years class who just didn't seem like a freshman out there after he got his legs under him. Big moment.

Big win for the Cats. Will give Indiana credit they are a real good team. I think Greg Anthony said after the game Indiana played their best and still lost by 12. Baylor is a very talented team but having seen them play a few times this year they have spells where they lose it for a while. Think Cats will win by 10 to 12 points. GO BIG BLUE.

I've been fortunate enough to attend Kentucky/Indiana games during the season. Two in Freedom Hall and two at Indy. The atmosphere with the crowd being half and half was amazing. I bet last night was incredible as well. Great Game !!
