COLUMBIA TUSCULUM, OH (FOX19) -
Restaurateur Jeff Ruby didn't have to buy 15,000 steak dinners for Northern Kentucky University's undergrad students.
That's because NKU fell to University of Kentucky in the NCAA tournament Saturday night.
But he can still name a steak after the team.
"NKU Norse" will be a steak on the menu at The Precinct, his restaurant in Columbia Tusculum on Delta Avenue.
Ruby, who owns several popular steakhouses in Ohio and Kentucky, made the announcement on social media late Sunday.
Mar 20, 17, 12:43 PM #20Nice gesture. Thankfully everyone already know's about the quality of steaks at his restaurants because if you were to name a steak after a horse at your run of the mill steakhouse I would say it's a bad marketing decision.
Mar 20, 17, 12:48 PM #21Ruby giving the kids the steak anyway, as a graduation gift. To current students at Vandy, Dayton, UC, Xavier, NKU, UK and UofL when they graduate. Over the next 4 years.
