Only thought I have is that even though there is the wiretap talking about him getting money, Arizona doesn’t think he actually got the money. So while Miller is toast, Ayton may not be ineligible.

Highly unlikely imo that he didn’t get some money but that is the only line of thinking from Arizona that makes him playing make any sense.

What does the FBI have to tell a judge in order get authorization for a wire tap? Wire taps produce tremendously incriminating evidence. One would hope that they are not granted except under the rarest of circumstances. Can a defendant attack the issuance of the wire tap order?

From what I'm hearing Schalbach has never heard the wire taps, and doesn't even have a transcript of what was said. Interesting part is he's claiming the tap is from after Ayton was already enrolled at Arizona, plus Dawkins had nothing to do with the kid to even remotely be involved in getting him money to go to Zona. This one is going to get interesting on a lot of fronts. Buckle up...

Guess you can take him off the "Who coaches UK after Calipari" conversation.

I always wondered why so many mentioned him. For a fan base that killed Tubby for not going to the final four. It was interesting to me why he was the guy mentioned some. It's not like he hasn't had teams that were final four worthy. He is getting talented players like he would have at UK, but still haven't made a final four. Shoot some of our fan base base is not happy with Cal for only one title lol.

I think Ayton had 28 and 18 last night, $100,000 seems cheap compared to what he would be getting in the league for those numbers.

Miller vehemently denied everything in his presser today and Zona is letting him coach the rest of the season. They must believe him as well. I wonder if we may have some "fake news" here. I hope so because I always thought Miller was a decent dude...

So is this story a career ender for Miller or for Schalbach?

If this is untrue, ESPN is done as any sort of actual journalistic organization, and Schalbach will rightfully never work in journalism again.

Miller received a standing O when he walked onto the court last night.

ESPN doubles down also and says they are sticking with most of the report...I think the only part they have backed off of is, which player was being dicussed.

Either Sean is playing the deny, deny, deny game and is lying...after all what does he have to lose if he did it?
    or
ESPN was wreckless and Schlabach's career and that of his editors that have now doubled down will soon be over.

So do we trust the coach or the reporter?

The state of the general public's "trust" in ESPN is pretty low. Saw a twitter poll this morning that over 2/3 of people believed Miller was telling the truth and ESPN was lying. That's unreal. 2/3 of people don't believe a "sourced" report about a college basketball coach cheating.

That is a real problem for ESPN...I guess the whole Fake News thing has spread to sports reporting now when it comes to peoples perceptions.

It wouldn’t be the first time a coach or a player lied and said they didn’t do it and then it is proven later on.

I’m not sure what to believe. We get lied to by professionals in sports and in the media.
