Braxton Beverly Ineligible at NC State - NOW ELIGIBLE

North Carolina athletics following 18 years of systematic academic fraud, the organization has ruled freshman Braxton Beverly ineligible to play at N.C. State because he actually attended classes.
Beverly briefly attended summer classes at Ohio State before deciding to transfer when head coach Thad Matta was fired.

I hate it for BB. Kid does the right thing, and NCAA craps on him. I hope he can win the appeal.

I hope this gets more and more press until the NCAA is shamed into reversing this ruling.

Help me understand where the ncaa is wrong here. An enrolled student taking classes chooses to transfer, has to sit out a year.

I thought a player was allowed to transfer without sitting out if their coach was fired. Or maybe that’s only if school is on probation.

The irony of course is that the kid could have just not enrolled. Then would he be eligible?

If Beverly had NOT enrolled, he would have been eligible to transfer. Instead, once he started taking summer classes, he was then a freshman and NOT a HS senior with the ability to change his mind.

Former North Hardin star Tony Jackson, who was a 2017 senior, signed with Coastal Carolina. He is now at UMKC and did NOT/does NOT have to sit out a year ... because he never enrolled at Coastal Carolina.

The NCAA should be ashamed since the college down the road can get away with fake classes for student athletes. Sad thing to punish a kid for trying to get ahead in life and in school.

Normal fall classes, okay. A few hours in the summer, no way. Pathetic decision by the uncaa
