    Arizona Scandal/Mess

Arizona Wildcats basketball coach allegedly paid 5-star recruit $15, for commitment | OregonLive.com

A portion of what has been reported says...

On July 20 during a meeting recorded on audio and video by the FBI, Richardson reportedly indicated that "Player-5's mother had asked for money because 'she doesn't know what I was already doing for her son.' "

According to the USAO complaint, in a recorded phone call "on or about August 11, 2017," Dawkins said, "I know the guy with the 15 grand we gave him [Player-5], he committed like three days ago... so that deal got done."

Arizona pledge and 247Sports five-star point guard Jahvon Quinerly announced his decision on August 8.

Seems like the Fed's are doing a pretty good job of providing the audio/video factor of it.

You can bet your butt that if the Feds are in on it there is audio or video or both.

Just cause the Feds have audio/video against Arizona. It doesn't mean they'll have it of Sean Miller.

I got a feeling we are going to hear the term "lack of institutional control" a ton in the upcoming weeks/months.

And that is EXACTLY why Pitino, et al, are completely at fault. The folks on ESPN and other networks yesterday explained in detail how this entire process works from AAU coaches, to players, to parents, to college coaches and schools. It isn't a big secret like some want to profess it to be (i.e. Pitino). This is a KNOWN process and apparently a wide-spread, accepted one at that. Denial simply isn't a realistic defense to anyone other than the guys pleading the ignorance and their lawyers. When this explodes to include the vast majority of big time programs, as it is surely going to do, then the next defense will be "Well, EVERYBODY ELSE DOES IT, so WE thought it was acceptable." Sean Miller goes down as will a good number of others in the coming months. At least until the NCAA comes up with a way to spin this and save face.
