Are Kentucky fans still happy with Cal?

Are you still happy or is his way, not the way for the Cats?

I think Cal was born to coach UK. His personality is perfect for the coach at UK. He’s also stubborn as hell and needs to adapt his coaching style.

Look, I’d like them to win more titles. I think there are ways in which he isn’t the best, but everyone has flaws.

It is frustrating for them to have the talent to win and come up short so often. I definitely think they should have won a second title somewhere along the way. But that’s really where I stop. I don’t think he’s left like three titles on the table. They’ve been to seven Elite Eights and four Final Fours in his ten seasons. They had no titles and no Final Fours the 12 years before him. Only three Elite Eights even. That’s not something I’m eager to get back to.

Coach Cal has always been good at adapting and getting ahead of the times. I think he slowly is already. Guards wise they should have guys like Hagans, Quickley, Baker back. Then big guys Montgomery and Richard's. The area I think he is starting to adapt to is the grad transfer thing. They have a big guy who can also shoot threes from Belmont I believe scheduled to come visit tomorrow. So I do think he is making a slow change with how he is doing things.

Someone should add a poll to this thread. I Personally think Coach Calipari is made for this job.

Thatís perfectly fair. If heís going to keep guys like Montgomery, Richards, Hagans, Quickley, Baker, etc. though heís need to develop them. PJ developed a ton from year 1 to now. Richards is still the same player now as he was when he got to UK. We havenít really seen Cal go the developmental route at UK obviously so I have no idea what to expect but it seems like a nice compromise to bring in 2-3 stud recruits every year and have developmental guys already here.

Yes, I'm happy with him and can't think of a single coach I'd rather have.

The "Greatest Coach of All-Time" has made less Final Fours and less Elite 8's than Cal, since Cal got here.

Tourney is so random that while it's a big portion of what coaches are judged on it's not the entire thing.

    Absolutely.
    Except elite 8’s.
    Celebrate final 4’s.
    Hang banners for championships.

John Calipari has been wonderful. He has an NC and has owned UL.

What else could you ask for???

Are Duke fans still happy with Coach K. Coach Cal has better numbers overall than Coach K has with the exception of 2 titles to 1. Coach K has only been to two final fours in the last 15 years.
As for your question yes I am this is the best 10 year run for the Cats imo since the 60's and 70's.

I think Richard's definitely was better this year than last. However since they did have an All American in Washington, a senior on Travis, and a very talented guy in Montgomery. It didnt leave Richard's any room for error, because if he made a mistake he was out because they could.

Darius Miller, Josh Harellson, Liggins, Terrance Jones, PJ Washington, Tyler Ullis, Harrison twins, WCS, Dakari Johnson, Alex Poythress etc all got better under Cal. Most have gotten better by staying. Problem is for Cal some guys during his tenure he recruited guys who he thought may be here a few years that ended up being one and done. Such as Eric Bledsoe, Booker, Teague and now probably Herro.

The problem is guys seen how succesduln Cal has been at getting guys to the NBA. They think they will be able to walk in and do the same. Then if it doesnt happen right away to where they may not even start as a freshman. They have a hard time wanting to stay to put in the work, because they thought they would be the next one and done. So his success at getting guys to the NBA does hurt at getting players to be willing to stay. I dont think he pushes them out the door at all. He allows them to make their own choice.
