Is trinity really the favorite in the game against MBA? I honestly wouldn't have thought so, but then again that may be from lack of exposure to Tennessee teams.

I am just glad to see that the beating we laid on Elder hasn't dampened the spirits of the Ohio fans. Not even a year after words and they are back in that "holier than thou" frame of mind. So far the smack they are talking seems equivilant to that which was being said last year before Elder. I guess the Rocks will just have to up there and shut them up again. I also enjoy the fact that none of them give the Trinity D any respect, that D being, for the most part, the same one that held Elder to 20 points and FORCED 5 TURNOVERS!

By the way, good post CR.

If I am not mistaken MBA lost several games last year before putting it together at the end of the year. From what I gather Trinity is a solid favorite...

Cincy Saint X is another story. They are usually awesome.

MBA went 9-4 last season and was the Division II-AAA Champs there schedule went like this
    Dobyns Bennett (W) 51-48
    BGA (L) 23-25
    Knoxville Catholic (W) 21-14
    Baylor (L) 21-29
Webb School of Knoxville (W) 35-7
    Christian Brothers (W) 14-9
    Memphis University School (L) 21-24
    Brentwood Academy (L) 6-31
    Father Ryan (W) 41-7
    McCallie (W) 35-7
    Baylor (W) 24-14
    Memphis University School (W) 20-14
    Brentwood Academy (W) 27-11
If you look at there schedule 3 out of there 4 loses they came back later on in the season and beat them ,so something must have went very right for MBA late in the season.maybe they had a few players out with injuries?

Another Good post in that thread ......A little history about MBA
In 1999 MBA ranked as high as 7th in the country. In 2000 they finished 19th. They have won 4 out of the last 5 state championships. They have beaten the bolles school of florida, state champs again this year, who were number 1 in usa today in 1996, and number 10 at the time of their first meeting in 1999.In 1996 and 1997 MBA lost to a nationally #3 ranked BA team twice by less than two touchdowns combined. (a kid named Tito Lee was on that team that was as big a prospect as the southeast has ever seen) MBA finished 9-4 last year starting something like 15 jumiors and sophmores. MBA also boasts a good quarterback, not as good as Brohm, who will play ball somewhere in college, and there are other guys on next years team that will have a chance to sign as well. MBA will be outsized but make no mistake about it, they will be prepared. This level of competetion is nothing new to the Big Red.
