Maybe we can divide it up into classes! Since I don't know much about 1A and 2A I won't speak for those!!

    4A - Louisville
    Northern KY
    Lexington
    Western
    Southern
    Eastern

-----There's just not enough paraody in this class to see it as wny other way. I truly feel that in 4A NKY has started to respond and play better than lexington. Lexington has tons of work to do. I don't think that it's all on the field. I think that in Fayette County there is some serious problems brewing, through the county's administration of athletics, especially football.

    3A-Central KY
    NKY
    Western KY

-----There really isn't enough consistent talent to respond to any more regions.

In my opinion, allstate means nothing.

Here is "the" team. Or should I say unstoppable.

    qb- Haddix BHS
    rb- Reagon Rock
    rb- Robbins Bell
    fb- Fannin P-burg
    wr- Johnson BHS
    wr- Jamerson P-burg
    wr- Creech CHS
    te - Barnett BHS

I would put these offensive skill player against anyone. They really don't get any better than this.

    At Defense I would have

    s- Greer
    s- Haddix

Well, it probably wouldn't matter, I wouldn't forsee many staying with the offense.

    Help me out here SEBELL.

Ok now i am going to try to Put this as simple as i can..

There is going to be NO game's where each Region will play each other!!!!

So all there is to go on is Opinions.and i have learned that no matter how hard we try you ain't going to make them believe that our Region is better than theres and They ain't going to make us believe there Region is better than our's..So we can Beat this to death and it would not do any good and the best thing to do is say your Piece and Move on!!!!!!
Because it's not worth anyone getting the Boot over a game that will not happen!!!!!!!

Now has Eastern Kentucky came a long way? Yes it has
Is Eastern Kentucky Catching up in Football ? Yes it is
Are People from all around the state Other than EKY scared? yes they are...they know that it's only a matter of time that eastern Ky Catches up and Knock's them off....

Wildman, if you think Lawson is the best junior RB in the state, you've never seen Joe Casey. And you'll have a tough time favorably comparing mountain skill kids with those from the rest of the state.

Anyone besides me noticing a trend here?

    Rating the State
    1. Louisville (The best top to bottom & the best of the best in Trinity and Male
    2. NKY (No real dominate teams the last couple of years but a ton of good teams, some real giants most years)
    3. Tie Central & W KY (Central has had Boyle and Danville and a cast of other teams a notch below and W KY has had the Mayfield's and Hoptowns and a cast of others as well in 3A in particular)
    5. Lexington (Disapointing that they never seem to beable to win it all but TC has been solid in recent years as has Lex Cath. The other Lex schools are not ususally the states best but are above average)
    6. E KY (Traditionally the weakest in my opinion but clearly making strides this past year. Could move way up in my ratings with a couple more years like this year. A very weak 4A hurts E KY but its a numbers game and there are very few 4A teams in E KY)

Wildman, Lawson is a good back but he is no where near the back the Joe Casey is. I think Casey will be head and shoulders the best backl in the state next year and may have been the best in the state this year. Casey is one of the best backs I have ever watched.

I believe that a Louisville all star team could man handle the EKY all stars and Trinity might be capable of doing so by themselves. For that matter, a Louisville All Star team might beat an all star team from the state at large this past year. On offense they would have a high school dream team. Brohm is the best QB that the state has seen and maybe the best ever in KY. He alone would provide a big advantage to the Louisville stars. Haddix is a nice QB but he is not even close to as good as Brohm and anyone who saw the 4A title game and 2A title game knows exactly who is head and shoulders the best

    Bell County Bobcats
    Middlesboro YellowJackets
    Rockcastle Rockets
    Breathitt Bobcats
    Prestonsburg Blackcats
    Belfry Pirates

I would take the all stars from these teams and put them against the allstars from the rest of the state. If thats not enough we would spot you 10 pts.
East Jessamine beat Bell County 13-6
    Green County beat Middlesboro 40-14
    Boyle County beat Rockcastle 21-0
    Boyle County beat Prestonsburg 55-0
    add Danville,West Jessamine,Harrodsburg,&Mercer
Central Kentucky wouldn't need the 10 points

I would say that you posters are right in saying that Louisville, Lexington and others in the metropolitan areas have better overall teams year in and year out.

When you have a pool of a couple of thousand of students to draw from in the metro schools compared to a few hundred in the rural schools then you should be better year in and year out.

With that said then the teams in Eastern Kentucky when matched up with schools of their enrollment size do extremely well.

We have a limited number of schools in the mountains with enrollments over 700 yet our coaches manage to field decent teams year in and year out and with smaller, mediocre ( in your eyes) players still manage to go back to Loiusville to play in the Championships.

I know that some of the private and parochial schools may not have the big numbers that the large metro schools have but they can get the types of ball players they need normally from being traditional winners that any decent ball player would want to play for.

I have seen Breathitt County play schools such as Bryan Station, Tates Creek and Henry Clay and defeat them over the past years. That tells me that our coach can take smaller on the average players and build them into the finest football teams pound for pound of any in the State.

I can't speak for everyone else but I would be willing to bet that Breathitt had as much team speed if not more than anyone in the west. Just ask anyone that played us this year. The scary thing is we lost our most productive receiver at the midway point of the year. Willis was not close to being the fastetst in Eastern Kentucky. That title would go to Mr. Thomas from bobcat land.

I believe Hoptown did compete against Breathitt Co at the Male passing tournament. They defeated them without their starting qb and 2 transfers that could fly.Sorry but Hoptown had a speed advantage without the 2 transfers.Hoptown played a number of teams faster than Breathitt---Male,ChristainCo,Warren Central,Paducah------Mayfield,Boyle Co were as fast.I think Breathitt's success is more a product of their system than their speed.

Here are just some of the skill speed we had this past year...

    Brandon Thomas 4.3
    Randy Gaddis 4.5
    T.J. Fraley 4.4
    Courtney Johnson 4.5
    Justin Haddix 4.5

The one thing that Breathitt can say that probably no other WKY team can say is that we have 3 state titles in the last 8 years. Mot bad for a bunch of slow mountain folks.

I beleive you are wrong about that matchup at the Male passing league, because Prestonsburg beat us out of it.

Since 95 we have won 95 games and lost 14, that is 83% of our games. With a semifinal loss to Danville in 98. THat is pretty good considering that Breathitt didn't even field a football team until the late 70's.

Bobcats evidently you are a high school player. There never has been a high school team from the mountains with that kind of speed. What were their times from the eastern combine last spring??there are very few hs teams with 5 players that fast and definately not a 4.3.I personally saw Breathitt versus Hoptown at last years Male passing tournament .They had 1 player that was very fast and they had GOOD team speed but NOT great team speed like some of the teams we played this year.I am not trying to disrespect Breathitts team just stating a opinion based on personal observation.Again their success is a product of the system Coach Holcomb uses.

As far as hoptwon's success and i'll go back to 95

95 12-1 lost to bowling green by 14 pts AAA state champions
96 13-2 lost to Highlands 7pts in state ch
97 13-2 lost to Cov Cath 8pts in state ch
98 5-6 lost in first round
99 12-2 lost to St X by 1 pt semis AAAA state ch
00 10-4 lost o Male by 35 pts semis AAAA state ch
01 12-2 lost to Boyle Co 7 pts in semis AAA state ch
02 10-4 lost to Boyle Co 6 pts in semis AAA state ch

Excluding 98 the reecord is 82-15. of the 15 losses 8 were to state champions of which 6 were decided by a td or less.2 were to state runner ups of which 1 was by a td or less.3 were to rgional finalist who lost to hoptown after winning in the regular season.1 loss was to a Tennessee team and 1 team didn't get in the playoffs.

No hoptown doesn't have a state cahampionship in the last 10 years but it is evident that the road goes through here.I am happy that Breathitt has 3 AA championships but i still think theywould struggle against Hoptown year in and year out.

I'll vouge for him, the speeds are legit, they were exceptionaly fast this season. They were almost that fast as juniors.

Our DB's did just fine, they did all year long until they met 6'5 Jacob Tamme, we were small, but HopTown has no one to compare Tamme with, and HopTown doesn't have receivers that stand 6'5, that is what gave us the problems.

You said you have to throw the ball in WKY or you'll pay, I think your right and it showed, you all got eliminated because you didn't throw the ball...

Are you trying to make me feel stupid about a kid that goes to school in Hazard and you are saying he is enrolled in WKY? Tewayne Willis was the TB for the Perry County Central team this season and has unbelievable wheels, he returned several punts and kickoffs this season by virtually himself, he can go to one side and the other and still maneage to go N and S. He was the awesome, I don't know his background but if you were stating that he used to go to WKY then alright but that means nothing now, he has improved from being called turtle or whatever you called him, or are you even correct on mentioning the same kid as I. But I dont mean to bust your bubble or anything.
