- Dec 1, 04, 12:16 AM #562Hey all I was asking was for Smith to go public and say it.. don't you have faith in your leader? I just think a public statement would be classy from him since the Boyle faithfull claim to have no objections

The topic of this thread is that a player is ruled ineligible. He should have been ineligible all year long. But now the Highlands players didnt get the chance to prove they could go through a season and be as successful as they are without their best player who is by the rules illegal. Also the teams they played had to face them with someone who shouldnt be on the team leading them. Its a mess unfair to all the players involved.
The Highlands fans and players are victims here. Some are in denial that what was done was the wrong decision by whom ever.
The people who have done Highlands wrong are the people who ruled the kid eligible when it was clearly against the rules.
And the coach rolled the dice and has left his team shorthanded and unprepared for the loss of Mitchell.

Mitchell, the best back you had and the one who is counted on to get tough yardage. If Hubbard was as good as Mitchell him being in the program for years, would have been the one carrying the load Im guessing. And Im sure it would have made the defense a little more suspetible.
Also, last year has nothing to do with this year. Its a different year versus different opponents. aka. Bell County. If Mitchell doesnt cause the fumble and them make an unbelievable leaping over the defender, return for a TD then Highlands are not playing Saturday. He made huge plays in a big game to win the game.
This is my last post tonight. Highlands, even if they do win Saturday it will mean nothing because they didnt do it the way the rules state for it to be done period!

Reverse psychology; interesting technique. I think I studied that in my Psych 101 class in college. I take that back I think I saw it yesterday on a rerun of the Cosby show when Theo wanted Rudy to do him a favor.

Thanks anyway though.

All Mitchell had was an injunction. Everyone knew this had to be resolved at somepoint. The timing stinks for Highlands, but courts have more important things to deal with.
Coach Smith doesn't need to be making any statements. This issue is between Highlands, the courts and the KHSAA. All Chuck Smith has to do is prepare his team to take the field Saturday, Mike Mitchell or no Mike Mitchell.

Sportz Addict and anyone else that continues the allegations about Boyle's coach are in denial. You are trying to shift the blame for something HHS should take accountability.

Does anyone know how the KHSAA will punish HHS? Someone mentioned that perhaps a penalty would be imposed next year. Can this happen? If so, what should be the penalty?

I am closing this thread because it has cost a lot of people their membership. Someone can start another thread but everyone needs to review the rules or we are going to have more suspensions.
