Default Tried two new restaurants yesterday.

For dinner I had an Italian Beef Sandwich and Fries from Lonnie's. Then for dessert I walked across the street to Homemade Ice Cream and Pie Kitchen and got a double scoop of Banana Ice Cream. Both were new to me and amazing!

I'm speechless...I can't believe you hadn't tried the HICPK yet.

I know you told me about it several times. Honestly I'm not a huge sweets person. But HICPK could change that.

Lonnie's is fantastic. The first of those opened out near my parents house on Westport Road back when I was in high school. Then it moved to its current location in St. Matthews before opening the second store on Bardstown. All incarnations have been pretty much the same and all are excellent. The Italian Beef is awesome but I also like the polish sausage and the Chicago-style hot dog.

Just went to the Pita Hut on Bardstown Rd. for lunch and had a delicious Gyro. Would've liked a little more meat on it but the flavor was splendid!
