Default Kid Rock CD: Rock N Roll Jesus

Rob Ritchie's new CD comes out on Tuesday. I've heard samples of it and it sounds good - a good mix of his musical tastes.

As you can imagine, and as I just told my wife, its not for everyone.

Yes. I missed it. Si Leis had to be one unhappy man.

The question is not how far. The question is, do you possess the constitution, the depth of faith, to go as far as is needed?

This CD is VERY good. I've been listening to it at work the past few weeks.

I have to be careful to watch for clients coming in the door when I listen to "So Hott".

I've listened to most cuts. I'm not a big fan of the New Orleans song. The rest are pretty good. I do like "So Hott" a lot.

I haven't heard any of his other songs, but I have heard "So Hott" and I hate it. Its not because its vulgar. Don't get me wrong I like vulgar stuff as much as anybody, but the lyrics are so corny, and uncreative that I listen to it as a joke. It falls somewhere along the lines of a "Can't Touch This" for me. Don't get offended if you like it, but really listen to the lyrics, and tell me how they are creative.

    So Cowboy is Dylan-esque?

Of course not. None of his songs are. Kid Rock isn't about writing influential songs; he's about writing songs that sound good to the public, and are fun to play, and I understand that. Its just that, that song was a tad too over the top for me.

I love the song "So Hott" but then again I also really like Toni Basil's song "Mickey".
