Highlands Soccer Player Clay Frink Struck By Car - Severely Injured
Highlands Junior Clay Frink was hit by a car at an intersection near the school on Monday. His injuries are extremely severe. He is at Children's Hospital with a traumatic brain injury. He plays soccer for the Birds and is a wonderful student.
Please keep Clay and his family and friends in your prayers.

What happened? I haven't seen any official report released to the media. My boys ride their bikes to that intersection all of the time. This has been on my mind since Monday.

The linked article says the boy walked out in front of the SUV and no charges to be filed. That intersection has 4 crosswalks, not sure what happened. I hate to see this happen but I have seen many close calls as drivers refuse to stop for pedestrians in the cross walk. I hope the boy makes a full recovery.

This information has been passed along to me and I thought I would share it with the BGP community. Clay is showing signs of improvement, but still has a long way to go.
On Monday, Clay Frink was in an accident that caused traumatic brain injury. Many people have asked to help out financially. To receive that generosity, we have set up a sole-purpose account to pay for medical costs that are not covered by insurance. Our hope is that God's intervention in Clay's restoration will minimize these costs. Should we collect funds that exceed non-reimbursed costs, we will donate that money to benefit kids who do not have a strong support community like the Frink's do.
Donations can be made to any US Bank to the "Frink Family Fund." They can also be mailed to:
US Bank
Attn: Frink Family Fund
2 South Fort Thomas Ave.
Fort Thomas, KY 41075
Please share widely, freely and often with others who may wish to help. As has been said numerous times, this is a marathon, not a sprint, so we're gearing up for a long period of support and care.

I was told by my young cousin that the NewCath soccer team says a prayer together for him at every practice. Its nice to see how schools that dont really like eachother, step up and do the right thing in time of need. It seems this young man has a very very long road ahead of him. Prayers are coming his way from this old Bred. Being a father of two I couldn't imagine, when my daughter had to get stitches when she was 2 I shed some tears. I would be a complete mess if that was my kid. Many prayers for the family as well!!! Stay strong.
