First time ever trying turkish get ups. Wasn't fun but it got done with correct form.
Those and burpees are two exercises that I dread thinking about for the whole day.

Love me some burpees. Only thing better is burpee box jumps.

Has anyone tried George St. Pierre's RushFIT? Curious. Thinking about giving that a try rather than doing Insanity over and over.

From what was in the video alone I'm not that impressed. Looks more like a warm up than a workout. Really surprised GSP was struggling that much doing that. That said I have not idea what he had already done prior to filming this segment.

The Evansville tri was a success. My swim still sucks, transitions suck, bike is just ok, but my run is good Finished right in the middle of everyone which was good for 3rd in my age division. The bike and run course were brutal.

September 1 is a 100 mile bike ride that I am going to pull my wife through. And at the start of October we got signed up for a Half-Ironman race in North Alabama.

If anyone wants to check out some endurance athletes, I will be up in Louisville this weekend volunteering and spectating for the Ironman race. Everyone needs to check out one of these things... very inspirational. I have been training with a guy that used to play basketball at Murray Stat in the late '80s early '90s. He has lost about 60 lbs in training this past year. These things are tough enough, but imagine being 6'8" and in a big frame. That is what this guy is doing.

That was about it Majority of the bike was out in the countryside which was pretty. The town itself, yeah, I agree. The park really is nice.

I started doing crossfit in Feb. The box I go to has a baseline work out that every new person does their first day.

    For time:
    Row 500M
    50 Squats
    40 Pushups
    30 Situps
    20 Wall Balls
    10 Pull Ups

When I started it took me 10:05 to finish and it just about killed me. I barely finished the Pull Ups. This morning we had a new guy show up so we all did Baseline as our warm up. I finished in 8:30 going about 75%. After we finished we did our regular WOD of

5 rope climbs, sub 3 pull ups and 3 dips for every rope climb
    10 Sumo Dead Lift Highpulls (95#, 65#)
20 Overhead Squats (95#,65#), I sub front squats
    40 Russian Kettlebell swings (53#, 35#)
    80 Double Unders
    1600M run
    80 Double Unders
    40 Russian Kettlebell swings (53#, 35#)
20 Overhead Squats (95#,65#), I sub front squats
    10 Sumo Dead Lift Highpulls (95#, 65#)
    5 Rope Climbs

I did a few of the rope climbs but after burning up my ankle I had to switch to pull ups and dips. I also can't do overhead squats so I did the front squats.

I volunteered for the swim practice today and will be up again tomorrow. Possibly volunteering at an aid station.

If you have time, hit me up.

Well, crap. I would have but did check in on BGP the past few days.

The 6'8" guy... didn't make it. I tried my best to get him in, he just could not go fast enough on the run. I stayed with him for 23 miles. At midnight we were around mile 22. Made it back to 4th Street Live at 1:20. It was gut-wrenching.

    Very cool.

I did my century ride last weekend in Clarksville. Took on Hurricane Isaac. It was miserable.

I am 4 weeks away from my 70.3 in Alabama. Long weekend upcoming -- (1 mile swim, 40 bike, 9 mile run).

Been going at it strong for a few weeks probably more like a month really. Girlfriend of 3 years and I broke up about 2 months ago, I was in the dumps for a while but then I realized how much she was holding me back from being able to work out and have really gotten after it sense. Decided not to drink all of October(Sober October) just to focus on working out and dropping some lbs. I have dropped about 20 so far and about 4 for far this month.

Been changing it up at the gym being sure to do legs at least twice a week and have been experimenting a little with super sets. I've been lifting weights for about 12 years now but I'd never really tried super sets. I like the fact that it pushes you and really works up a sweat if you do it the right way which almost makes it like doing circuit training. So far so good but as I'm getting lower in weight I find myself wanting to get a little lower and lower.

In addition I've also really changed my eating. No longer do I order food at restaraunts and feel the need to finish it which has also helped with money, I've started asking for boxes and often times using my lefts over as a second meal rather than a snack for later. I've never ever struggled with weight so learning how to lose it when I decided I wanted to has been interesting.
