The models all shifted the path West last night.

They know. Several parishes have declared states of emergency. Right now Miami, the Keys, and the southwest coast of Florida are a concern.
Believe me. I'm watching this storm, as I do all tropical cyclones, like a hawk. I won't get comfortable until it makes landfall. Look at what Debby did.

Kentucky should be feeling this storm by the end of the week.

Is it wrong that when I read hurricane and New Orleans in the same sentence all I can think of is "George Bush doesn't care about black people". I'm not kidding either that's exactly the first thing that comes to mind. Hopefully this storm is a bust and doesn't do too much damage. Are they forecasting for a direct hit to New Orleans?

We've been getting outer band squalls since around 3pm yesterday. Lot of rain, some wind.
I feel for the New Orleans, but also the Florida panhandle. They may get 18 to 20 inches of rain from this thing. That's 18 to 20 inches of water, the ground has no where to put. Like here, the ground is completely saturated. The lakes, rivers, and aquifers are full. I've had standing water in low places in my yard for a month now. Unless the water there gets evaporated, it stays. There is nowhere to soak in. I was at my son's place Saturday, and his pool overflowed during a monsoon. Cities have been handing out citations to home owners who drain their pool overflow into the streets.
Then there is the storm surge with the panhandle being on the east side of the Isaac.
Bottom line, there is going to be major flooding up there in and around Panama City, Pensacola, and Destin, regardless of where the storm makes landfall on the Gulf Coast.

That's what I was reading earlier. They're also saying when it hits land there isn't any system to move it so it may just stay put for 24 hours or so. Brutal conditions coming up for the Gulf this week

Like Debby earlier this year, but more like Elena in 1985. She sat off the coast of Tampa Bay for 3 days reeking havoc across Labor Day weekend.

Just got a Tornado Warning alert on my phone (7:40). The Weather Channel says the turbulence is located in northeastern Hillsborough County. I'm on the northwest side.
The warning is until 8:15. Watching the sky.
