Best Burger Recipes, what are yours?
I'm sure that about 90% of us on BGP love Hamburgers. Anybody do anything creative with your burgers when you fix them at home? Looking for new ideas on how to fix my favorite meal.
To get started one of my favorite ways to fix Hamburgers is to mix them up pretty much like meatloaf then cook them like a regular burger. They are delicious and much better than my beloved leftover meatloaf sandwiches.

Onion soup mix works well when put in hamburger.

Add some blue cheese and Cajun spices when making the patties. Then a light coat of olive oil before they hit the hot grill.

split the ground beef into two thin patties.
lay one out and add mixins to the middle. I like crispy bacon, blue cheese crumbles, and a little onion.
put the other patty on top and seal around the edges.
Salt and pepper to taste (or use McCormicks steak seasoning) and cook until done.
Instant stuffed burgers.
(Provolon is also good.)

Saw a 50/50 burger on TV, 50% ground beef and 50% ground pork belly (bacon) mixed together with a little salt and pepper. If I can find ground PB I'll be trying this soon.

I mix brown sugar and A1 sauce into the meat before forming the patties. After you form them, let it sit for about 30 minutes to set. Cook on low heat for about 30-40 minutes so you don't create a mess with the brown sugar and fat from the burger caramelizing. Also use 90-10 beef so there isn't a lot of fat to burn off. The A1 sauce will make up for the lack of fat to make it juicy...

I use seasoning salt when I mix my hamburger meat. Give good flavor throughout.
Also have done the same with Montreal steak seasoning.
Have also mixed real bacon bits with hamburgers when making the patties.

All Spice (amazing seasoning if you've never heard of it. They sell it at kroger) and an over-easy egg on top.
Possible scratch the egg and spread some Montgomery Inn sauce on top as well.

I used to fry burgers in a pan with butter and worchesterterterterter (whatever) sauce. They were really juicy.

I usually empty a packet of Lipton Onion Soup Mix and Lea & Perrins in before I form patties and let sit for a while before grilling. Its quick and easy. However, some of the ideas on here are pretty cool. My favorite toppings would be some combination of bleu cheese, bacon and onion straws when I'm fooling around, but I do like to taste the meat.

I use 3/4 venison and 1/4 beef. Add the dry onion soup mix; A1, minced garlic and worchestershire sauce (with sliced jalopenos from time to time). Add a slice of pepper jack and you have the Bambie Burger. Sometimes grill a slice of Spam to put on it and you have the Spambie. Might go with thinly sliced ham this Friday in lieu of the Spam and create the Hambie. Thinking of also boiling some potatoes a head of time; slicing them, covering them with olive oil, giving them a moment or two on the grill to brown and crispen and adding them to burger.

I don't usually like anything mixed into the meat. I like rare to mediumrare burgers and like the taste of the meat, but I do a lot with different toppings.
One of my favorites.
1/4 cup ketchup
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1 tablespoon and 1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
Salt and pepper
6 slices bacon
1 large red onion, julienned
1 1/2 pounds ground beef chuck
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
4 slices of your favorite cheese
4 Kaiser rolls
The Sauce:
-In a small bowl mix the ketchup, mayo, 1 teaspoon balsamic, and 1 teaspoon Worcestershire.
The topping:
-Cook the bacon until crisp - remove and crumble.
-Discard all but about a tablespoon of the oil.
-Toss the onions in the skillet. Season with salt & pepper. Cook till soft and brown. 15 mins or so, we're extracting starch.
-To the onions add the bacon, 1 tablespoon of balsamic, and 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire. Stir together, cook till liquid evaporates.
The Burger:
-Patty out 4 burgers - season with salt & pepper and smear Dijon mustard on one side.
-Grill mustard side down and put some mustard on the other side.
-Grill burger to your liking.
-Top with cheese to melt it before removing.
Constuction:
-Place burger on it's roll.
-Put a good smear of sauce on it.
-Top with onion mix
Eat:
Keep a napkin handy

Have made these, and they're amazing....Don't need cheese or anything. The burger itself is delicious.
My go-to burger recipe though, is to mix in a healthy portion of onion salt, garlic, cajun season, crushed red peppers, and a dash of jalapeno juice with the beef. Let them sit for 10-15 minutes then throw on the grill for about 10-15 minutes.
