Bellevue Restaurants
I have been in the Bellevue area a lot recently. Have found a few great restaurants along Fairfield Rd. Skinny Legs has a great burger. Ate at Virgils last night. Limited menu, but everything we had was great and the staff was very, very nice. Also ate at a cafe for lunch awhile back, but I cant remember the name. All 3 are on the same street in great old buildings. Lots of character.
Does anyone know if the Pasquales down there is the same as the Pasquales I remember from the old days? Our old Pasquales had the best hoagie bun in the world. Havent had a hoagie like that in years.

I've been going to that Pasquales for 15 plus years and nothing has changed. They still have the best steak hoagies around, garlic salt/butter on the buns.

The guy (Ezra) who founded Skinny Legs is the same guy who founded Zola's and the area renowned Zola burger.
It would be nice for Bellevue to develop into a real cool location to hang out for lunch and especially dinner. The avenue has a very cool feel.

It looks lilke they are making a good start. Fairfield Rd. has a lot of neat old buildings and there are several shops along the way. Normally when I think of eating in Newport/Bellevue, I think of the levy. I didnt realize till recently that, right down the street there are some really nice places. All 3 of the places I ate were full, so maybe that is a sign of good things to come.
I am definately putting Pasquales down for my next stop.

I eat at that Pasquales at least 2 times a week. The flat bread from these is soooo good. Skinny legs is just now starting up still after a year or 2 it will be just as good as Zolas, 915, and Southside.

I think Paul Fessler, son of the original owner, is back running the joint. He left and went to become a chef and than went back to his roots. Sooooo good!

My wife and I did the Pasquale's/Schneiders combo tonight. Hoagies and iceballs.
Yummy.

Yeah, Ezra had done a fine job opening and moving from one location to another. Anyone wonder why he does this.
If you are looking for a place to take the kids out to eat, his isn't the one. I watched him grab a kid at the 915 one night because the kid was a little over excited to play a video game. It wasn't a pretty sight. I know the family that the kid belong to and I'm very surprised it wasn't lights out for Ezra.

Drive about a half mile down Fairfield to Dayton and go to Buono Vita's. Outstanding pizza. Pasquale's is OK. This pizza is REALLY good.

I just came across this thread. Didn't see Virgil's mentioned (it's awesome...and it was featured on the Food Network). Their frog legs knock it out of the ballpark. Also haven't seen the Bellevue Bistro mentioned yet. Great lunch place - and I'd have to assume the dinner is solid too. Get the goetta-egg-and-cheese sandwich if you're there for lunch or brunch. It's KILLER good.
I will second Clyde's comment about Buona Vita too. One of the best restaurants in Northern Kentucky for your money. Heck, it's one of the best restaurants in Northern Kentucky. I eat there at least once every two weeks. I grew up with one of the brothers who own the place. Maybe some day he'll name a sandwich after me after my money pays enough of the mortgages, haha. (Just kidding.) All three are great restaurants though.

I've been to the Bistro twice since my original post. Cool little place.
I do need to get back to Buona Vita.

If you go for something other than pizza, go for the Buona Vita Blush (bowtie pasta in palomino sauce), or the Furrio hogie (steak hoagie with pepperoni topped with spicy calabrese cheese sauce).

I kept hearing about the "Bellevue Pasquales" for a few years from my brother who works in that area. I decided to give them a try one day when I was in the area and picked up a pie. Sorry to say it was the worst I ever had. Don't know if staff were having a bad day or store was short on staff but I simply could not eat that pizza. There was something nasty with the sauce. Haven't been back since.
